Not wanting to sound like a desticle or something, while i agree that their communication with the community has been very poor and many times vague.
It was states that destiny's engine is an monstrocity on its own, it would took them a day to make minor changes like moving a weapon crates or something as simple as that, and as for content, its up to the live team to keep it fresh, so while the team is working on destiny 2 an small team is struggling with destiny right now.
I cant really link it right now, but if i am not wongr it was in a kotaku article.

That game engine is their problem not ours. Like anyone who has tools they use for work: If my aviator snips are dated and just take too long to get anything done with....
I replace with something better
-
They would have to make a new engine a recreate the entire game in the new engine. Replacing a part is simple, remaking the entire the is much more difficult

People should know better than to ever work with sub par tools. ...actually, most people DO know that. BungleVi$ion knew from the moment they started building Destiny their software tools were ineffecient, with just minor fixes requiring 8 1/2 hours just to load up a map. You don't build a game with such pain in the ass engine.

yeah, exactly, i am not defending them. Its better they have leanerd with destiny and go for a better engine next time, because thats not the kind of error you'd aceppt twice.
-
I want to get hyped up for Destiny 2. But damned if I want to be fooled twice.
-
I know. I read that. And it sucks, it really does. But they've made enough money they can get a new engine, or use an open source one.
-
I think they plan to with Destiny 2, and I highly doubt it would support old gen. From what I last heard, they are focusing most of their efforts now on Destiny 2. But that could be wrong as well.

Edited by Taco: 2/29/2016 4:34:45 PMPretty sure they are. And I'm fairly certain activision forced them to come out with a large "content event" in the spring/fall. I mean, they signed a contract with time frames and promises of content with activision, even if you realize you can't do it and focus all work in destiny 2, you're shit out of luck. You signed for 2 dlcs between expansions/sequels. Probably just means it'll be crap content again lol
-
yep, i wouldn't say TTK was crap, but you got be blind to not see the really painful and time gated grinding they added to keep us "hooked" till the next big thing. Bungie just seens not to be able to provide content as quick as we demand tho.

They have been working on the monster. Finding materials and nodes in completely new places. Not really the changes/ fixes we are needing.
-
I've heard the same thing. The in game engine that they are using is really difficult to modify anything and they are rebuilding it. Sucks, but hopefully they get it straightened out. However, I'm not holding my breath.
