I know full well what would happen. I live in the central valley of california. I see the illegal immigrants everyday out doing field work. What I also see are Americans sitting in their asses collecting welfare. The welfare system needs to be reworked so you must work while on it. If you can't work, fine but I see whole generations of welfare family's. It's sickening. To curb ilegal imigration would be a three pronged attack.
Firstly fine businesses large amounts if they were caught hiring illegal immigrants. If they continue their businesses are seized and auctioned off to the highest bidder. Even the people who hire them at home depots should be punished. The illegals can't get a job, they will deport themselfs.
Second if you are caught in the us illegally you can never become a citizen. That would make more apply legally.
Third is we need to reform our immigration policies so it isn't so hard to legally immigrate here. I'm all for legal immigration. Having them go through the legal channels means they won't be taken advantage of like they are now. They will have legal rights and recourse.
You think all people who are against illegal immigrants are cold hearted bastards who just hate them. Some are. My reasoning for it is out of kindness. They will never go as far as they could unless they are legal citizens, and I want them to succeed.
