You have hearing problems then my friend. I wear ASTRO A40's and can hear the sound of the other player switching weapons, foot steps, shoulder charge (sound plays either through left or right) same goes for shadestep, when someones going invis, I could even hear people shooting out their bullets to final round in trials all the way in their spawn. I love inferno for that reason, listening to all the sounds and using your eyes, you're more focused too.

Don't forget jumping, you can hear that too.

I know what you're talking about, it's more of a general trod. When you run the sound is made but not when you walk.

Use a headset.

There are no footstep sounds. Headphones don't help you hear what doesn't exist.

People forget about the environment and the sounds your character makes when you do a bunny hop, not full jump. You can hear everything

You can to a certain degree, it simply isn't clear enough in my opinion.
