Lololol Division won't last past it's year road map. Destiny has already lasted a year and a half and it still is full of players. It kinda just shows how garbage the Division will be as they have to compare themselves to Bungies Destiny.

  • Full of players? My 37 friends who have quit say otherwise. The only reason Destiny has lasted so long is because Bungle quits every corner down to the square inch just to make the grind drag out that much more

  • Think of it this way. That's 37 people. Each of those people more than likely have a bunch of friends who have also quit. I'm the future if those people are ever asked their opinion on the game they're most likely going to have so,ethnic negative to say, which will deter others from buying the game in the future. When you add up the number of people quitting and discouraging get others from purchasing the game, that's A LOT of people. Also, compared to Bungie's player base then and now it's has dwindled substantially.

  • 37 people quitting any game is no small number. If someone quits, and their friend quits and so on and so forth... That's a lot of people over time. Destiny isn't dead, but it's dying slowly of cancer..

  • 37 is not a lot. And what about all the players who play more than one game? You know that's a possibility.. Lmao

  • You do know how most companies succeed? Word of mouth. Ex. I have a group of friends, 7 of them that are all extremely close. All of them quit at the same time because they couldn't stand the shitty RNG anymore, so they agreed to move on. The clan I used to also be in for 8 years also quit playing completely.. All 15 of them because they agreed it was boring af anymore. When best friends at this game quit, they usually talk close friends into it, that's life. Yeah sure I play multiple games, destiny probably the most though. But once the Division, No Man's Sky and FF7 remake come out I'll probably finally be gone. Unless Destiny 2 really raises the bar for me. Anyways.. People have always played multiple games, but they also have favorites and in today's day and age they like being where their friends are. That's 2016 for ya.
Lololol Division won't last past it's year road map.
And out of curiosity, why do you say that? And I wouldn't say Destiny is full of players. Rarely are 2 of my friends playing it (used to be 20+), and my clan is growing quieter and quieter. I used to play everyday for several hours, but now only hop on if my friends/clanmates need help with IB or Trials.

They already cut Brooklyn from the initial release even though it's sealed on the disc. How about Queens, Bronx, Staten Island? All made into DLC to try and prolong the life span. So you would say Destiny isn't full of players because your friends list is empty? ... Who are you exactly lol? Look at the crimson doubles report, over a million unique teams were created and played in the doubles event.

The game we got that was a shell of what it was supposed to be? Hacked to pieces and sold to us in parts? Confirmed by the devs themselves? Yeah that doesn't fly. At least the story in Division probably won't be some disjointed mess.

  •
Look at the crimson doubles report, over a million unique teams were created and played in the doubles event.
That's just a number of people pairing with different partners, if it was actually a million teams I'd be impressed. But this stat could be 100k people playing with 10 different partners

  • It was actually 1.9 million unique teams. I can't see people finding 10 different parters lol... I played with 2 but that's just me.

  • I don't believe for one second they had 3.8 individual accounts log in to play Crimson doubles. The number I used was just an example.

  • I would say about 600,000. That's still a substantial number for a year and a half after release.

The main reason people are still playing so heavily is simply because they are addicted. They can't help themselves. The studio also employed employees from blizzard to help them insert elements to make the grind addicting and keep people going for that sweet loot.

I think you need to focus less on video games in general. I play Destiny because I enjoy it. I play Farcry because I enjoy it. I play Black Ops because I enjoy it. I play Battlefront because I enjoy it. I play Bloodbourne because I enjoy it. Do you see where I am getting at? The only people who are addicted to Destiny are the people that can't sit and enjoy what it is. The people who try their hardest to discredit Bungie are the people who are truely addicted to Destiny. They want Destiny to be exactly the way they want it, and if it's not their way then get ready for some backlash. Sort of sounds like a junkie don't you think?

I hardly play destiny anymore. I'm simply pointing out a fact. You're the one that's endlessly defending the game to begin with. Desticles need their eyes opened.

  •
Look at the crimson doubles report, over a million unique teams were created and played in the doubles event.
I guess you forgot that it flopped so horribly they had to bribe people to play?

  • ... A million players playing is a flop? You can look at the free 320 ghost two ways - a Bribe, or an actual gift to players who never had the ghost drop. The person who dislikes Destiny will pick bribe. The person who likes Destiny will pick gift. Both contain bias.

  • I like destiny. But it was a definite bribe. They constantly are checking their numbers. I assumed with the success they had from other past events they figured this one would do better.

The ghost was a bribe, and there is a definite fine line between a gift and a bribe.

  • See they didn't bribe anyone to play it. I finished those 7 matches the first day probably along with 80% of the players who participated. The ghost wasn't mentioned until the complaining escalated.

  • The complaints were totally valid though. The event was marketed as the place to get your 320 ghost shell and it wasn't happening. At all. And it was kinda the straw that broke the camels back for a lot of people who have been grinding since September and still max out at 318-319

Except for the fact the only game I've played since I got destiny, is destiny. The fact I'm not going to the division. I'm just not foolish enough to think this game is in a great place right now. Also, let's take myself for example. I think I played with at least 6 different people. So I single handedly account for 6 of 1 million. When you start factoring that in the number of actual players starts dropping.

  • This game isn't in a great place. This game is dead. It's been a year and a half.. What more did you expect out of it? Destiny 2 comes in 2017. I'm only still playing to see this light increase come spring.
Who are you exactly lol
Someone who used to play Destiny a lot with a lot of people who used to play Destiny a lot as well.
Look at the crimson doubles report, over a million unique teams were created and played in the doubles event.
And how many quit after realizing it was just 2v2 Trials, but without the lighthouse and without the card? Over a million unique teams who played a couple of times (in theory) is not an impressive number. I'm more interested in the actual numbers of matches without suicide farming, than how many teams were formed and played once. Similar to how many registered users Destiny has versus how many active users they have. Registered counts people who quit months ago, and a million teams formed counts a unique team of two who played once. Granted, I played Doubles quite a bit, but that's because I needed to finish my doubles grimoire card. I believe Bungie realized that they were losing traction with Doubles, and no one played it, so they handed out a 320 ghost to people who played 7 games. How many people do you think played 10 or more games after that announcement, or played 5 or more before it? How many of those were not suicide farming for a ghost? Without Bungie being candid about this data (when are they ever?), the world may never know.
