Suggestion for 3v3 PvP Weapons & Ammunition changes
So probably everyone knows about the changes to special ammo drops in 3v3 PvP matches, most notably Trials. This was supposed to ensure more initial engagement with primary weapons. Instead of this, however, teams employ different ways to work around such as:
- entering matches with sidearms, Invective, or Icebreaker equipped
- waiting until special drops
- waiting for Icebreaker to fully charge, and "throwing" the round so they can change special weapons in between, allowing for full or almost full special ammo reserves
- running the primary exotic sniper, No Land Beyond
There's really no solution to No Land Beyond, other than outright eliminating it from the game or from 3v3 match types, which seems an unrealistic expectation (although I wouldn't personally mind). Addressing the other concerns, perhaps we should consider modifying existing game types, or creating a new match type where ONLY primary weapons are available. No Invective. No sidearm glitch. No Icebreaker. And obviously, no heavy ammo drops either. THAT will most assuredly force engagement with primary weapons.
Naturally, there will still be matches where we go against some elite team that can quick scope a deadly shot and instantly end the round, but they might be fewer and farther between, instead of the current situation where people just outsmart the system and make matches less fun and more of a weekly chore.
