It's stupid. It can never just be, "That's just the way he / she is." There has to be some underlying "issue" because mommy and daddy can't accept that their Johnny or Susie isn't PERFECT or that maybe, just maybe their parenting skills were lacking. Whenever a kid strays away from the "norm," whatever that is nowadays, it's NEVER the parents fault.
