5x more drops in the crucible
legendary weapon engrams need to drop as frequently as armor engrams
faction packages should drop 3-4 items
strange coins in patrol chests
strange coins and motes of light for top-scoring in a crucible match
add old legendaries to y2 sold by crucible vendors, and make them random drops in PvP (e.g. y-09 longbow synthesis)
add old legendaries to y2 sold by vanguard vendors, and make them random drops in strikes (e.g. Ldr)
remove bad perks on guns and replace them with good perks on guns, or make them better
Add a buy-random option to the vendors (at 135 marks, I should be able to buy a random roll) or simply rotate the stock every once in a while.
items should always drop at same or higher light-level
CRYPTARCH PACKAGES YIELD PURPLE ENGRAMS. This has been an unresolved problem since day 1, and Bungie has claimed to fix it like 3 times.
Just spit-balling here, but when House-of-Wolves made loot literally rain, I still felt like playing the content even after it was dried out.
In Taken King, I have to play the same content for almost no loot.
Bungie has shown the ability to modify loot values on the fly. So, at the very least, there needs to be a massive increase in loot (and the diversity and quality of loot) across the board.
TL;DR:
make it -blam!-ing rain. Don't be shy. worst that can happen is players take a break from the game feeling rewarded, rather than jaded.
This is not my post in any way as it was originally made by Pwadigy over on Reddit

I really think this post needs to be seen by Bungie, and they need to take action. Please Up-vote and bump if you agree with this in any way because I think this should be implemented with the spring update.

Loot is at the top of the list of feedback I get about Destiny. Everyone wants more/better loot. There are tons of ideas thrown around on what we should do to improve the loot system. I'm always passing these ideas along to the devs for the community. Thanks for continuing to provide good feedback.
-
Bungie is so worried about players getting a ton of loot too quickly and not playing the game. But it would be the exact opposite for me. The more I'm rewarded, the more I'm going to want to play. Very simple concept. If those streamers and 1% hardcore players are the ones complaining, that's too bad. No one said to sit there and play the game 8+ hours a day, 5-6 days a week. You'll get sick of anything if you push it beyond moderation. But instead, the casuals like myself are the ones suffering because those streamers are calling the shots. Absolutely pathetic.

If it's on reddit, then they already noticed it but won't make a difference. Since the new CEO, only gift he has given us is a 320 crimson doubles shell and weekly explorations of the dreadnaught you've explored for 6 months

Pwadigy knows where it's at. Great post by him. However... Bungie Dev's only read reddit, so there was really no need to post it here. ;-)

Agreed

Soo.. Nerf Fusion Rifles?

Edited by Razzupaltuff: 3/10/2016 1:55:19 AMTrue words. The loot system is the one single most annoying element of Destiny right now, because you will end up playing for loot. As if it wasn't bad enough that loot drops have random drops often making you want to keep playing for the same weapon or gear with better stats, you frequently can play crucible matches for days without seeing a single legendary drop. Bungie should massively increase the drop rates as the OP stated. You will still have enough reason to keep playing for another drop to finally get some good rolls on the weapon or armor you got dropped. People are telling you that since shortly after the game has been released, but you don't give a flying f*ck, Bungie. You do not even give real answers, because the real answer would be that your game design is meant to make the game sh*t in our faces. You have no respect for your customers. None at all. You daftly keep ignoring them because you know you get away with. Obviously you also do not have a sense of honor. No way I or my household's members will ever purchase another game from you.

at this point (late life) of a game - make it rain loot, let us upgrade old stuff, bring back etheric light, whatever it takes to make it worth signing on
-
I love the idea of the Tower vendors actually changing their stock sometimes! Why even have a weekly reset if it just resets weekly bounties, nightfall (still a thing right?), and raids? Oh and the Crucible should be dropping legendary weapons, armor, and engrams almost every game. :)
-
I couldn't agree more, I'd like to see more loot. More specifically, more meaningful loot that I'll actually use instead of instantly turning it into parts and marks because it isn't worth the time to upgrade it. Hell, I'd even like to see hand cannons receive a slight buff to where you can always find primary ammo when using them, tad bit more range, and of course a little more accuracy when ADS. Also along with making it rain loot, make it rain Warsats! Nothing is better than watching your friend get piledriven into the ground by a falling satellite.

Edited by agentzoomie: 3/10/2016 2:27:19 AMLoot drops are extremely insignificant in the entries Taken King release for all endgame content: - Raids - Vanguard Strike specific legendaries - Crucible sociocultural weapon legendaries - Trials Gold Tier packages - Nightfall If I can't re-roll weapons, they should drop way more often.
-
5x more drops in the crucible -They've already substantially improved the Crucible Drop rate. legendary weapon engrams need to drop as frequently as armor engrams -No, this is why it costs 150 LM from vendors for weapons instead of half that cost for armor. Weapons are always a bit rarer. faction packages should drop 3-4 items -They do, Strange Coins, Motes, and a random item or 2. strange coins in patrol chests -There are. strange coins and motes of light for top-scoring in a crucible match -Agreed add old legendaries to y2 sold by crucible vendors, and make them random drops in PvP (e.g. y-09 longbow synthesis) -I like that things get left behind like lost artifacts. add old legendaries to y2 sold by vanguard vendors, and make them random drops in strikes (e.g. Ldr) -They do have new version sof old legendaries in strikes... remove bad perks on guns and replace them with good perks on guns, or make them better -Re-rolling was a horrible idea. Please don't bring it back ever.

I'll say it seems bungie doesn't want to give valuable loot so easily. Which I will agree with, so really the problem is Bungie not making enough challenges. Ones we can go into as any sized group or solo to get it.
-
Plz Bungie we need this! Properly reward the guardians who dare to challenge me, the great Skolas!
Bump
-
As always krishna, I support you bud. Great ideas. big Bump!
-
Mega bump. Time and effort are not rewarded in any way at this point. Im 308 and im getting greens in the wild now. I cant use the trash i get normally what in gods name am i going to with greens? How do you make people want to grind? Reward them! How do you keep new players interested? Or how do you attract new players? With the promise (and ultimately delivering) of meaningful rewards. Period. Great post dude, big props

Edited by Kardain: 3/9/2016 5:37:44 AM
faction packages should drop 3-4 items
While we're at it... Revert reputation gains towards factions back to Y1 (wear a faction class item, the rep split goes 100% faction, 50% Vanguard/Crucible). Or... Make the exotic class item perk actually worth the grind. Instead of 55% rep earned (which is quite the insult given the time needed to go from 0-25), it can up the split to 100/100 This does nothing other than shift a player's preferred loot table from one vendor to another.
-
The problem with the current level progression system is that there are simply not enough 320 items available, period. You get 3 guaranteed per week in challenge mode, but you are not guaranteed to get what you need. Furthermore, you also need multiple 320 items to get an item from 310 to 320, due to the fact you do not get 1:1 infusion value. This just increases the grind to a ridiculous level. They need to get rid of the current system. Trash it. Let light progression be a result of time spent in the game, and let us grind for the items we REALLY want (assuming they have made items we actually want. Y2 gear is crap/subpar!).
-
Make a GAMEMODE that makes guardians drop engrams from being killed...if u die u drop 1 engram...that'd be fun
-
did the nightfall twice yesterday, got a 296 cloak or gun or something, i don't even care enough to remember i dismantled it immediately and a 305 something that i immediately infused into something, i would have rather had an emote because at least then i would get something i might use, its one of the many downfalls of this game
-
Agreed that would be so nice!! Rng is so unforgiving!!!
-
agreed i ran all three of my characters (320 warlock which i have had since release day, 319 hunter at 2 weeks old, 317 titan at 1 week old) through heroic king fall raids yesterday just to get standard raid gear at 310 or below or a couple of extreamly low heroic level gear (310-313), seriously the loot from heroic raids was suppost to be 310+ but with normal raid loot getting mixed in it becomes a higher chance that you will get normal raid gear (which turnes into break down material). even doing the challenge mode got me nothing that i wanted (2 pulse rifles and a hand cannon at 320, turning them to infusion material) i have had more primaries from oryx challenge than i want, i'm starting to think i was better off with the 3 warlocks i had a little over a month ago at least then i could have a set that i could use to get all 3 characters to 320 by switching gear between them. seperate normal mode loot from heroic mode loot as some chests you can't open if you ran normal before running heroic (sisters chest comes to mind).
-
I got green weapon parts that I exchanged them for exotic. I also found an exotic blueprint. Do you know what I did with em. I've crafted an exotic :)
