Something I do from time to time is put one enemy from the game vs another enemy. Typically these are strike bosses or raid Bosses and I put them to a Vote. So Since Iron banner just finished this week I put Shaxx vs Saladin . This got me thinking why not simply do an entire Tower Tournament March Madness style. Now in case you don’t know how these match ups could work, I run polls in several places and take comments of how you guys think these throwdown match ups will happen. When the Dust settles we will have winner. Ok so for the matchup at hand Lord Shaxx vs Lord Saladin. Lord Shaxx is one of the heroes of the Battle of the Twilight Gap, having led the counterattack that pushed the Fallen from the City walls. Fearing that another full-scale assault would be more than the City could repel, Shaxx chose to stay in the City to mentor Guardians in the Crucible. One day Shaxx vows to return to the war beyond the City, but only after he is confident the fires of the Crucible have forged a new generation of warriors. Shaxx is key in all things Crucible really As for Lord Saladin he is a hero to the City and a legend in his own right, Saladin Forge led the City's defense during the Battle for the Twilight Gap. His protégés, Commander Zavala and Lord Shaxx, now lead the Tower's Vanguard and the Crucible, respectively. Saladin remains close to Zavala, though his relationship with Shaxx has been strained since the Twilight Gap. Saladin’s Iron Banner seeks great champions to lead the fight against the Darkness. It was born to honor the Iron Lords and their efforts in the earliest days of the City. So if you need something to fuel this grudge match of this Student and Teacher duo it would have to be Shaxx’s action to counter attack the fallen at Twilight gap. A basic rule of Titan combat is to hold the Line at all cost. Its the Strategy that saved the city at the battle of Six Fronts. So if these 2 can’t get along, well lets get it on! Several comments pointed out that Shaxx is the Crucible and would own Saladin Forge. Another comment that I saw a few times that I completely agree with is Saladin has an experience edge in this fight. Just because you're a student doesn’t mean you learn all of the Teachers tricks. Another aspect to look at is the type of gear that they sell. Yes The hawksaw is good, but the gear that Saladin sells is so good looking that guardians on a monthly basis deck themselves out in it and take Tower Selfies. Even in Bungie’s Ride along today the Iron Banner Hunter helmet had to be in the stream. The purpose of the Iron banner tournaments themselves are to strip Crucible weaklings of their illusions and prepare them for a battle with no concept of fair play. For the next Match up, its going to be Cayde-6 vs Eris Morn. Both were Hunters (cayde still is), Both Badasses, and the joke of the community the sexual tension between them. Eris a survivor of the Hellmouth, full of Tolands and the hives old tricks against the mouthpiece of Nathan Fillion. This is a really even match up when you think about it.
