My aim is pretty good. Im decent with snipers. BUTTTTTT headshots are overrated. Why am I going to aim for the tiny spot when his health his down and I can hit the bodyshot. But a comfortable 64% with NLB which is what really matters

  • It means most of the time you are not in a situation where you 1v1 someone. If all you get are body shots it means the enemy has been weakened by something else, even if it is you, typically it means you can't one snipe to the head.

  • Still. Im not going to be cuffed to using one weapon/ability. Why does no one care about headshot ratio on machine guns? Because you go for the kill. That's what matters more than a headshot majority of the time. If you're camping. Sure. You're gonna go for the headshot because most likely you found an enemy who just turned into your sniper lane with full health. Headshot is smarter there. But if you're running and gunning. The body shot is gonna be more important because it's what's more likely to keep you alive.

  • I'm not holding it against you, I'm explaining why. If you rarely get head shots it means you have a certain play style. Anything below 50% though, is when I would say you are better off using a shotty.

I suck assss at shotty. And here's some snipes I got. But if you check out some of the most well known snipers in our community like truevanguard and kjhovey. They're sniper pkr overall is lower than 90% of Destiny snipers.

  • Can you do me a favour and get me all the data of these people? I'm not in the mood to look them up, or watch whatever video you shared. Head shots aren't overrated and body shots while I agree are easier to hit in most situations, is not better than a headshot

Head shots aren't overrated and body shots while I agree are easier to hit in most situations, is not better than a headshot
True Vanguard: 36,820 sniper kills total, 11% pkr. KJHovey: 46,413 sniper kills total, 5% pkr. PourMeAnother95 (aka Maya Sundaresh): 14,726 sniper kills total, 21% pkr. HolyShrimpz07 (aka Bryan the Psion): 11,116 sniper kills total, 32% pkr. A lot of people look to those two snipers for tips and tricks of the sniping trade for their own sniping. So why are they sooooooooooo low on the pkr? Because headshots are only useful for supers. Revives. And a guardian with full health. Otherwise a bodyshot is not only easier. But strategically smarter. Why go for the smaller zone on a "less than a full health" guardian when the bigger zone will still get you the one shot kill?

  • Bud, those are PVE and PVP stats combined, most of those sniper kills are PVE. Go on destiny tracker and check PVP kills only. It's gonna be much higher for everyone including you too

  • That's my point. Got play style is having teammates tag the enemy and you body shot him. Which isn't as skillful as sniping a headshot, as in handling an enemy all by yourself.

Or grenades to prime and you tag the toe of the headglitcher. Or you tag the guy with a primary, see he has a scope glare. Pull back swap to sniper. Bodyshot one shot kill. Or team tagging a super. He's low enough you can get the giant chest shot for the finisher. Or you miss the first headshot so you go for the Body shot. Or you run double snipers so the first sniper misses the head but hits the body. The second sniper finishes it off. Or you're rushing with a sniper in hand. Get a melee hit. Finish it off with a quickscope to the chest, arms, legs, feet etc. Holy shit... There's a lot of situations where a body shot just makes more sense then lining up a headshot. Edit: it's not all about making the three pointer in b-ball. Sometimes it's alllll about making that lame ass two pointer and foul point. Make the kill. That's all that matter. Kill the enemy with whatever kills faster and misses less.

  • Those situations don't come as often as you would say it does. How MANY times do I have to say it. ITS YOUR playstyle. I have nothing against it. What I have against you is when you come in here saying that head shots are overrated and that body shots are better

Those situations happen OFTEN too me and most of the players I play with. Gtfo of here with your skillful this and skillful that. A kill is a kill. A smarter kill is a kill that will more likely happen than a stupid kill. Fact. Headshots are overrated. Opinion. Most people will go for the bodyshot if given the chance. Fact. Body shots are sometimes more situationally smarter than headshots. Opinion. Everyone should run and gun because campers are bitches. Fact. Idgaf about what you say. Headshots are overrated. Opinion. You think I'm an asshole. Fact. Oh motherfuckin well. A bodyshot kill is still a kill just like a headshot kill is still a kill.

  • Yes they are. If the guy is a one shot body shot away from death considering whatever sniper I got equipped... Why in the world would I go for the headshot. Headshots are only for full health enemies.

  • It's called situational awareness. Guy is not full health. Shoot the bigger mass. Guy is full health. Go for the one shot kill as in headshot.

  • It should just be a habit to aim for the head.

Dude.. I am in mother-blam!-ers faces with snipers. Run and gun is different from camping bro. Headshots. Are. Overrated. Kills. That's what you go for right? So it won't matter what you say about habits and such. But here... How's this.. My habit is... situational awareness. I notice the health. I make a choice for what I aim for. Which shot I aim for is most likely to get me the fastest kill. So that way I can either kill again or die faster.

  • I'm a mobile sniper as well, I get your strategy but there's obviously a difference in effective ratio. I don't camp, I hate camping with sniper rifles, so don't accuse a playstyle you know nothing about.

  • Im not accusing. Im just saying for me. Camping is gonna get me more headshots than our run and gun sniping. Bodyshots are often more strategically smart then the headshot.
