Scarabs and Sweats, an Salty Ode to das Trials of O'soserious
Okay, so last night my fireteam and I FINALLY got to that 8-0, and we lost 5-4 unfortunately to a team we should've beaten as one of our teammates was up tight. Then, as they won, it said "Soandso was victorious in the Trials of Osiris" and THIS pissed me off. These people weren't even going to the lighthouse or had already been there!!!
Frankly I think the matching system for trials should put people who are 8-0 WITH other people trying to finish their card, and have a different section for people just trying to get the stupid scarab emblem or even have losses on their cards, just others at 8-0.
In all honestly this post is in the wake of much salt, and a long time of being awful at shooters, but seriously. Wouldn't you be?

Added: For all the new patronizers, the issue I have is that we weren't fighting against a team trying to go to the lighthouse, they had either already gone, or were unable to go due to a loss on their card. Either way, a common incentive to keep playing after losses or after you've already been flawless is for the scarab emblem. Get over yourself, the scarab emblem is dumb. AND if you're 8-0 your competition should be 8-0.
Extra add: for those not liking the whole "people at 8-0 should face 8-0", then frankly, a better idea would be to put anyone with 9+ wins matched together, and not match them with anyone below 9 wins. Food for thought.
More sauce: For those believing that "the way the matchmaking would work would take too much time to match", recognize there are thousands of people to match with at these points and it would not take that long, nor would it take any longer than it already does sometimes.

1 ReplyBad idea. But let's assume they did it. What if there are only a handful of teams at 8-0, and it's an odd number. Imagine the cries of insane wait times on matchmaking. Someone is going to have to wait for a team to meet that criteria. The 2nd option is realize that this is a game that we all paid for. We shouldn't have content taken away. If someone wants to play knowing they won't get additional rewards, then they should be able to. This is why they paid for the game. You could just as easily faced the same team when they were 8-0 and still lost. Point is, you lost. Stop blaming the game. I've never been to the lighthouse, but I don't want it handed to me.

5 RepliesScarab emblem 25 wins in a row auto reward. Rng is ridiculous in this game. It's gotten to the point I don't even try to get armor or guns anymore. I'll get all the necessary gear for pvp and save my time doing something I enjoy. Even the reward tables Bungie tried to create made the grind so ridiculous because there was no content behind it. So what little content they did have they artificially extended it well beyond its naturally playable life span. We ended up playing it so much we couldn't stand the sight of the levels or bosses. They jacked up his games loot so bad. Now the uniqueness of weapons in destiny is awesome (for exotics). Legendaries have been reskinned about 4 times by now so nothing is really different. The "hot fixes" change the weapons more then getting a new weapon does. All things that need to be improved upon to retain an audience long term.

It took me two weeks of going flawless "carried" and getting demolished by other teams trying to get scarab. 11wins, 12wins. But when I got carried the third time I was able to earn Scarab on my 10 win this week! I will not wear it in pvp until I can earn my flawless "legit" as for Scarab I earned that by myself with randoms not streamers so I'm happy!

2 RepliesTrials is great, taking peoples flawless card away is GREAT. I dont play as much as i used to in y1 but stopping people from going to the lighthouse is a Guilty pleasure of mine;)

another story bungie has told us in the past was that your record would indicate who you played. 1 win, against the same 1 win. 5 against 5, 8 against 8 and those who are 9 wins should be playing against 9 wins.. its not always the case though..

16 RepliesYeah so there I was at the tower and someone messaged me. It was a girl and she was going on about my armor and all this.....we talked for several weeks. So one night we met in Rubicon wastes and one thing led to another.....I was totally going to score for the first time! Then it happened.....she asked to see my Scarab!!! WTH.....I told her I was almost flawless but it didn't matter she whipped out her ghost and returned to orbit. F this game

Could have been playing for bounties. This post has nothing to do with scarab as when you continue to win after flawless it doesn't say anything. Why would you want to play an 8-0 instead of 8-1 or 8-2?

Correct me if I'm wrong but your complaining about loosing to a team that already had lost and is beatable,and you want to play a team that [i]hasn't[/i] lost yet. I'm sorry but your post doesn't make any sense.

You were 8-0, 8+1=9, 9-0 ____ has claimed the ultimate victory, 9-1or2 ____ was victorious in the Trials of Osiris. They probs just finished their passage TL:DR: 8+1=9, 9 wins means ___ was victorious in ToO.

Thats not entirely true i had a card which i did not go flawless but i needed passage coins so we kept playing and it says that even if the card has 9 wins on it.
