Destiny could learn from The Division
Having read the insightful threads from respectable members of this community on how The Division is [i]the[/i] Destiny-killer, aswell as witnessing the incredibly popular social-utopia that is the Division forum, I really think Bungie should take a page or two out of Ubisoft's book.
By making a few changes based on winning aspects of The Division, I firmly believe Destiny could once again be a great game.
[b]Change 1: Enemies[/b] - Scrap every enemy and instead create a single race of dregs dressed in an assorted variety of cotton / polyester sweatshirts, scarves and hats. Buff enemy armor by 800%. Name them all Alex.
[b]Change 2: Bosses[/b] - Scrap all boss fight mechanics. Scrap every existing boss in lieu of one of the aforementioned enemies with a higher amount of HP and damage output. Pick a noun at random, set as boss name.
[b]Change 3: PVP[/b] - Scrap the existing PVP completely, and instead allow guardians to kill eachother in a specific area of Patrol mode. Players must complete a Warsat event to keep any collected loot. Have deaths reduce light level.
[b]Change 4: Locations[/b] - Scrap the moon, venus, mars, saturn, and reef. Scrap patrol matchmaking.
[b]Change 5: Endgame[/b] - Scrap all endgame content in lieu of a max light level difficulty for 5 story missions.
[b]Change 6: Mobility[/b] - Scrap sparrows, pikes, heavy pikes and interceptors. Scrap jumping. Scrap crouching. Buff jogging. Add shadestep to every class.
[b]Change 7: Gear[/b] - Hand out legendaries and exotics freely, but with a 99% chance of having a useless roll. [i]Sweet! A Gjallarhorn! ..Aw man, Shank burn..[/i]
[b]Change 8: Other[/b] - Make the game third-person. Nerf strange coin drop rate. Scrap existing supers. Players must queue to interact with vendors.
These suggestions are the result of hours of tireless research.

I know lots here hate COD games but they have many things people have requested like custom matches, vote to skip, pvp weapons are independent of the pve weapons. I'm sure there are Other things. I'm sure there are games where rewards match the effort unlike trials or nightfalls. They could learn from those games.

1 ReplyI see what you're trying to do but this attempt wasn't very good. Change 1: This is probably the most agreeable in terms of how enemies look. Understandably, the division is a Tom Clancy game which means all the enemies will be human. So destiny definitely has more potential in the enemy category. Although it's arguable that each enemy type in destiny is basically the same with more or less armor/size. Secondly, the bullet sponge thing is misleading. If you gear properly (because that actually matters in the division) enemies will die just as quickly as in destiny. Change 2: Bosses definitely look different than normal enemies in the division, albeit not vastly different. Mechanic-wise, destiny didn't have many actual mechanics in vanilla. It was just a bullet sponge boss (like the division) that did loads of damage to you. Change 3: I think that'd actually be fun in destiny. Change 4: The division map is bigger than all of those places combined. Not to mention it looks amazing with weather effects and a day night cycle. Change 5: If you remember, all Destiny's end game was back when it launched was the nightfall. The nightfall is basically challenge mode in the division. Therefore it's the same. Also the division has "patrol matchmaking" in each zone so I don't know why you said that. Change 6: You mean the pikes and interceptors that I used a whole 6 times? Sparrows help you navigate quickly through the already small patrol areas. The movement things seem irrelevant so I'll skip those. Change 7: I'm not sure if you've played or not but high end weapons aren't handed out. And bad rolls? 90% of Destiny's perks on armor and weapons are useless. The fact that you used a Destiny perk (shank burn) pretty much proves that. There's also recalibration where you can reroll any stat or perk on a weapon or piece of armor in the division. Change 8: Either you like third person or you don't. Not sure what the strange coin thing means. Obviously the division won't have destinys supers in it. Vendor queues? What?

Hahah gg dude this is spot on and exactly why I took the division back to red box after a couple days, it's a cool game but I get bored quickly in it. Also is too slow for my liking

Its way too soon to say anything about The Division. Destiny literally was full of content and far better than any other console game until a few weeks into The Dark Below where there was no longer anymore content for endgame users

Games are always "perfect" the first month they're out. Destiny is nearing the 2 year mark, of course there's going to be people going to the division, who doesn't like new stuff? The whole "My favorite game just SHITS all over your favorite game" is the neckbeard version of "My dad could kick your Dad's ASS!". I personally can't play the division without being bored after one hour, and agree with the funny post you made, because hey, that's my opinion! TL;DR: Play the game that makes you happy, try new stuff, and don't be a douche on the internet.
