You are not buying the actual update by itself you idiot. That's the whole point. You buy/bought TTK. You are not paying for this update BY ITSELF

Since it ADDS on to the game yes it makes sense that you only get it if you are UP TO DATE with the game. How does that not make sense?

Well, if they want to play the update, they will need TTK. The gear, yes it was the missing TTK gear, or I would assume. But, the new missions, and raid, may have been created. Why should someone without TTK get the update, and we paid for TTK?

Because if you don't have TTK it will be unplayable. They're saying you need to own TTK to play the content. Though I wouldn't know why you still play Destiny without owning TTK.

Sheesh. They aren't that short sighted. They just ANNOUNCED it. We don't know how long they've been working on it for. This update is part of TTK, it was a planned updated/dlc.

I don't think it's wrong to be skeptical of new content. The only NEW thing they've mentioned is the new strike. If everything else is just boosted year 1 content than I will not be impressed. They've had half a year, they need to bring something more to the table or they will keep bleeding players.

Bringing back Y1 content would please the masses (forum destinies excluded), but to return what they took... A step in the right direction (especially since they are GIVING it back).

people have been calling out for VoG to be brought up to current level, i guarantee most of those people will be like "ermahgerd bungo why you so lazy"

Scaling up the difficulty of old content is not as difficult as creating new content. If the only NEW thing about the update is 1 strike I will not be impressed. Nice of them to bring the other stuff forward, sure. But it's been 7 months. They can absolutely do better than that.
