Here's my ways The Division can learn from Destiny.
Change 1: Match making - I don't want to walk up to a mission start and be able to start hosting an instance or joining another with match making. Make me go to a website and post on forums to find partners is I want to experience the game with others.
Change 2: Too much content - Ubisoft, you done goofed, I'm 40 hours in and still have a good chunk of content including side missions and main story missions. It should only take me 8 hours to finish the story and hit the level cap Remove 75% of the content and sell it as DLC.
Change 3: Speaking of caps - where's my currency cap? I've earned 75,000 of the in game currency and some people have hundreds of thousands. Uh ... did you forget to add a cap or something?
Change 4: Locations - The playable area is too big, make it a lot smaller and add a bunch of baby bumpers that keep you confined to narrower environs.
Change 5: emotes - I need them, I want to pay money to have my character slow clap. Luke Smith is so disappointed in you.
Change 6: light level I'm uncomfortable about being able to reach the maximum level through playing the game and earning experience. I feel like my level should be tied to randomly receiving the appropriate gear.
Change 8: Other - Weapon shaders: yuck. Gear trading: gross. A shooting range? Can you say gimmick! RPG elements: too complicated, need to be dumbed down. In-game lore: nope, just nope.
I think division also needs to implement some kind of loading screen. Rather then having orbiting ships they should show your character running for a few minutes whenever you leave the base or finish a mission / leave and enter dark zone.
Actually, Destiny wins in this case. I prefer seeing my ship during fast travel because you can at least manage your inventory and look at your stats/quests while waiting.
-
What do you think fast travel is? A loading screen
-
They do, every time you fast travel. You get to watch a little progress circle fill up. Mesmerizing.
-
-
Like when you're forced to walk slowly at your Base of Operations every freakin time? Yeah nice try...
-
Haha nice. Seriously though definitely a few things in division that could improve Destiny and vice versa. Boss fights enemy variety better in Destiny though..
-
You just like to bust everyone's balls, don't you? Lmao ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
-
Haha, nah. I've always enjoyed reading Shadow's posts. His response here was gold. Perfect satire.
Haha, nah. I've always enjoyed reading Shadow's posts. His response here was gold. Perfect satire.
From one satirist to another, game respects game.
-
Because he understands the satire lol
-
Lol i'm normally pretty nice but D forums bring out my saltiness lol

You do realize you have Zero, Zip, Nada, end game content in division right? Your "raid" isn't even revealed and you don't even know what the -blam!- is comming besides a new dark zone... You're just trash. Sorry sorry trash.
-
Think you should go play real mmos then come discuss end game content.
-
Since destiny and division are not MMOS? Also what end game content do you have in division right now besides dark zone? NOTHING. Incursions? You don't even know what it is. You're an idiot.
-
Ok kid. Stick to your CoD generation of gaming. You do realise end game RAID content originated in MMO games. So you have highlighted your stupidity by referencing a main feature of that genre and then calling others idiots. Moron.
-
They are most definitely mmos. Small, and in Destiny's case, LAZY, but they are most definitely MMOS. And there's no need for insults. It makes you look like you have no class.
-
You're comparing a game that is 3 parts rpg and 1 parts shooter (division) to a shooter that is 3 parts shooter and 1 part rpg. Destiny's gun play out classes divisions by strides. Division has more rpg elements (that blow because they tied power ups with cod like kill streaks. You have zero end game content to speak of. Your "raid" hasn't even been revealed or talked about. You're comparing apples to pineapples. Similar but incredibly diffrent in their own ways. Most of the people who went to division were cod fan boys. The forums over there are just as toxic and you even mention destiny there and they jump down your throat. The game is a ubisoft glitch nightmare. More game breaking glitches then Destiny which they still haven't fixed. You're getting two free dlcs...then the rest you'll have to pay for... how is that better than destiny or any different? All you see is something new and you toss out the old. I'd hate to see what their futures hold.
-
I agree with some of what you say. I do like Destiny's gun play and combat mechanics A LOT better. I can't tell you how many times I've died in the Division due to getting stuck on a crack, or the cover button not working. Having said that, I haven't touched Destiny since the Division dropped, I am Definitely in the end game and find it surprisingly more diverse than grinding the same four strikes or running KF three times a week. The Crucible is MUCH closer to COD than the Dark Zone imo, and therefore not an option for me. But all of this aside, my original point is that both of these games ARE MMO's. Neither are as fleshed out as say WoW or FFXIV, but they are definitely MMOs.
-
Sigh. This noob. XD
-
You do realise that Destiny didn't either?
-
Vog wasn't at launch either you retard

destiny didn't have vog on launch either
-
Shhh noobs who werent here at launch dont know that. But its good they dont because it makes them glaringly obvious

Too much content: Are you even playing the Division? No way it has me playing for hundreds if not thousands of hours like Destiny. 3. Currency cap: So what? Easy to get more glimmer if you need it. Heck I can hardly spend all now? 4. Locations: Destiny is big and diverse. The only thing that looks different in each location of the Division is the name of the area you're in. 5. Emotes: Both games have them, your point? 6. Light Level: Eh? You still need to randomly attain new gear in The Division otherwise your level means nothing. No 7. 8. Shaders: Because Destiny doesn't have shaders, what? I don't get your point. Weapons not having shaders isn't something to fall on your sword for. Actually now I re-read your attempt at being funny and passive/aggressive Destiny bashing I realized what an absolute awful attempt you made. Wow 0-10. So bad dude, so bad.
