You're fighting for all this stuff in the wrong generation. This is the first generation where all this stuff is becoming legal and really out there per say. All this stuff is not going to come till the second or third generations after this one maybe the first if y'all are lucky. You just still have the whole moral of LGBT people are weird or mentally sick and that you shouldn't associate with them. Me personally I've grown up with the idea of Gays and Trans being weird and not normal, so while I have nothing against them I still tend to not necessarily avoid them but just keep away. This is just because it's how my brain has wired itself and unfortunately it's probably a similar situation for most of the current generation.
