While most people have bought TTK, that's not my point. The next update is only available if you've bought the TTK. And from what we know, the next update is old content (albeit altered) brought to our current light level.
So in other words, after making the vanilla game irrelevant and worthless, you're going to make us repay for the content we already own? You're going to make people buy old content?
Smart move, Bungie. I try to have faith in you but shit like this happens and idk. I stopped playing a while ago but I feel bad for this community and how you treat them.
I'm aware most people do own TTK but this is a matter of principle. This is not an attack on Deej (poor guy), but merely a recognition of another marketing strategy on Bungie's part that shows how little they care about their fans.
Edit: Lol y'all already salty. Why? What has Bungie done to make you defend them so aggressively?
Edit 2: My assumption is based on what everybody else is assuming. Who knows. Maybe we're all wrong. But I'm going off of the generals consensus.
Edit 3: I never said Bungie doesn't have a right to do this. I'm just saying its in poor taste. Also, I'm not saying we're entitled to free stuff. I'm saying we're entitled to the game we paid for.
Edit 4: I'm happy that they're finally bringing back old content. I just don't think you should have to pay for it.
Edit 5: I guess I understand what you're saying, with the old content being available but just at a lower level. I guess I just feel that when we asked for more content, Bungie took content away and screwed over anybody who didn't buy TTK. You have to drop 40 bucks to even play old content at an updated level. The vanilla game should never have been made irrelevant. All you keyboard warriors can continue to cry, doesn't make you anymore of a man lol

No, just making you buy TTK, the update is free.
-
Other than a picture with HOW armor and a slight resemblance to the reef in the background, why do we "KNOW" it's gonna be old content
-
Stfu omg everyone has taken king if you don't have it by now get a job or do some chores for mommy and daddy and save up tel then seriously get a fukn life.
-
I think everyone on this entire forum just needs a vacation away from destiny news and social media. You come back and you just don't give a -blam!-
-
I thought the update was free? Unless you're saying that "This update requires TTK, but the update consists of content I've already purchased." I don't know what you're even complaining about. Also, you don't even know what the update has in store yet.
-
They could call it "the taken challenge mode" if you have ttk then you can enter, if not, all the regular Yr1 content are still here for you!
-
We don't know anything about the update really...
-
You've only got to pay if you don't own TTK, which either means you; A) Didn't buy TTK at release and left the game THAT long ago. or B) Bought Destiny WITHOUT the dlc! Both options mean that those without ttk because of those options, have no reason to complain at all. Like I said on another post, here in England, the Collector's Edition is currently CHEAPER THAN THE VANILLA GAME WAS AT LAUNCH.

Destiny is a game created to pool in mass amounts of money with minimal effort or money spent during the process. Sure that's the definition of all business practice but when the company manipulates, lies and tricks the customer base is when it turns into bad business ethic. We as gamers have immense passion for the games we play and use them as more than just something to do. We play to enjoy, relax, escape or connect with family and friends. Unfortunately Bungie's original motto wasn't about creating a game they love because the people in charge simply have one goal. Money. It's shown because Investors went with a company that has NEVER created an MMO game before. If the title Destiny doesn't meet the expectations of the yearly earnings goal there won't be Destiny 3. Clearly this practice is highly frowned upon in the gaming community hence the massive backlash from Destiny's player base. If you support the way we are treated or have yet to realize the reality of the situation then go ahead and pay for the next DLC that we already paid for in silver. It's just a matter of time before the last few remaining players see this and move onto better games which I will not mention.

If it's old content why would we have to download it? You're a special kind of idiot.
-
Vanilla: Base story, strikes, and one raid. You still have access to them with or without DLC. TDB: Adds strikes, missions and a new raid on top of Vanilla content. You have access to them without buying anymore DLC. Upped level cap. HoW: More strikes, PoE and endgame PvP. Same as before follows. Upped level cap and gave you the ability to ascend old gear. TTK: New story missions, strikes, raid, challenges, and a major change to the leveling system. Upped level cap significantly. Still have access to old content, though made mostly irrelevant. Endgame PvP requires purchase due to leveling cap increase. Based on all of that, there is no reason to assume that this update (included with TTK) will restrict access to old DLCs or vanilla. The only thing that has gotten access restricted is level enabled PvP (IB/ToO) for obvious reasons.
On a side note, I do think that the restrictions to regular PvP except "classic" is stupid.
They haven't said anything at all. These are all based on assumptions. If they bring raids or prison back that would be great anyways along with some new stuff as well. People have said bring back the old stuff over and over
-
Did u even read what bungie has said ? Who ever told u that they were 100% bringing back old content ?
-
Edited by Nerf Swarm Nades: 3/20/2016 7:47:27 PMIt's not confirmed that they're bringing back old content.

After being in these forums since 9/9/14 I have come to the conclusion that most Americans are broke as f¥ck.
-
I think it's great bungi is putting out content I wish it had of been sooner I might still be playing but bungi got to work to make it and if ya work ya gotta get paid I know I do
-
Holy shit just leave the game if you can't invest 40 dollars into it after 6 months smh. Like what are you 12? You could've got 40 dollars in quarters by now and you still bitchin about how we're getting a free update. Get out you child
-
Dlc is free to those with Ttk But these whiny mcfry boy posts are just sad
-
Edit 2: My assumption is based on what everybody else is assuming.
What a f*cking idiot!
-
How can anyone who doesn't own TTK still play this game?
-
Edited by SurrealistGhost: 3/20/2016 5:08:37 PMFvckin DLC's man. Makin me pay extra 40 bucks on a $60 game, fvckin Bungie corporate bullshit.
Fvckin bitches ;P
-
Uh, yeah. People who don't own TTK can't get armor that's 320+ which I'm sure is what the rewards will be for completing end game things in the update. It's part of TTK, not part of vanilla. Why is that hard to grasp?
-
You would not just be buying old content, but all if the Taken King, which is new 40 dollars for One raid Many new story Missions Strikes Nightfalls Weekly New weapons New armor New quests Bigger level cap PVE Content And more
-
Lol god some people not right in the head. This is a free TTK update so yes you would have to buy the expansion. This game was never meant to stay still. Before the game even came out bungie clearly said Dlc to expand game would be out every year. Maybe you should have either not bought it or waited a year
-
Destiny is literally a game created to pool in mass amounts of money with minimal effort or money spent during the process. What you people don't realize is that 500m is released through out the contract of 10 years based off profit. If Destiny doesn't meet the expectations of the corporate greedy satan worshipers than unfortunately Destiny will be discontinued. It's just a matter of time before the last few remaining players see this and move onto better games which I will not mention.

are you from the future? Can you botch after the livestream on Wednesday?
