To be sure, it's an improvement. But really think about this for a second. The game has been out for 18 months (will be 19 once the update hits), and this is the FIRST TIME Bungie has decided to do anything nice for the community for just the sake of being nice. Oh, and it happens to be about when the game is going downhill. Let me translate that for you: Bungie will do the bare minimum it takes to keep you around. They could have made a few random free content updates in the past to improve public opinion. It's not like other companies don't. It's not like Bungie was at the top of the world post-launch (remember the outcry about this game at launch? I do.) But they decided not to. Why? Because they had no competition at the time. But now they do, and that competition is really kicking them in the pants, so NOW they care. That doesn't make you feel like you don't matter to them? And I'm sure I'm going to get that tool who's all like "they don't owe us anything", but you know what? You bought their $140 game. They owe you everything they can give you within their budget. All this update proves is that, yes, they were in fact holding back on all of you. And that's why I left four months ago. I decided I'd rather stick with a developer that pushes their budgets as far as they'll go. And I get cheaper, yet higher-quality games for it. You all owe it to yourselves to quit Destiny. So just do it. Let it go. • Yep, just look at Square Enix as a prime example. It's so sad that after all these years, Final Fantasy XI is shutting down it's PS2 and 360 service and going Windows only, and there won't be any more main scenario udpates as Rasphodies of Vana'diel was the official ending (that I've yet to play through as I don' thave a PC currently). The reason? They''re out of PS2 dev kits and can not produce new content the way they used to. And yet, despite that and the dwindling number of subscribers, the game is still going strong and Matsui's team continues to push what they can in monthly updates. That's dedication for you. This is a PS2 MMORPG that came out in May of 2002 in Japan and broke all kinds of barriers bringing players from around the world and on multiple platforms together in 1 world - which incidentally is just 1 of the many reasons it's my favorite game of all time. Part of me was really hoping Destiny could be that next big multi-year IP but so far it's been a huge disappointment. It's not a total write-off (yet) but Bungie has a lot of ground to cover. Honestly it's crap like this that makes me hate that videogames are mainstream now. It used to be that developers really truly gave a damn about their stuff and (for the most part) put out quality games. Now it's all about pre-order hype and scamming people by over-promising and under-delivering while using skinner box tactics, doing the absolue bare minimum to keep people playing and paying.

 • The holiday events were just excuses to push microtransactions. Come on now, you'd have to be delusional to not see that.

 • All crappy fluff events that either no one caraed about or took too long to implement (why is Sparrow Racing not permanent serously...) Am I the only one who remembers when Bungie used to be cool? Like how they gave the recon Helmet to that guy who killed himself with a traffic cone in halo 3 (or the guy who sniped himself). And how they used to showcase Forge and actually interact wth their community on a regular basis instead of these half-assed weekly updates. I miss blame Stosh damn it.
