Sorry for the late reply, but there are plenty of clans for males. There are like 2 that I know of that are females only. Some females are not comfortable being in a clan full of males and feel like they need to practice their skills with their own gender. This clan is specifically for women only. If you want to join a clan then look for a clan that accepts males. I'm pretty sure there are more males that play Destiny than females, so people in clans are more likely to be a guy than a lady. So there for this clan is not sexist. I've been in this clan for a little bit and experienced it and it is a very nice group for us ladies.
