Not when they said time and again that the game would be a persistent online world with constant updates and events (both of which terms have been very thinly met). This is a business move, not some crusade of generosity. When Destiny 2 was pushed to 2017 or potentially 2018, they had to do something to not have everyone leave!

  • Seems like it has been a hell of a lot more constant than any other game I have played...what am I missing here?

  • Not for me by a long shot. Since all games get season passes now it seems, the majority I have purchased typically include 1 DLC per quarter, not 2 over a year (and the ones that do release less like Witcher have WAY more content) and most of the current games I've played have lots of patches and updates (hell Division already has had 1 and has another on the way this week + new content next month and the month after).

  • This game has been out for a year and a half and has had 1 medium DLC, 1 Large DLC, and an entire game patched into the current game and you think the season passes that are inclusive of map packs even hold a candle to this. Not to mention all the events that have been added for free lately on top of a now nee free set of conetent. Like I said perspective is what all the people complaining on this forum need. Could they rush crappy content out to please the masses and just waste our time like other game....sure. Bungie have a little more respect for what they put out in terms of DLC much like Gearbox. Closest we have see. to this on consoles was Borderlands 2....yup thats about it for consoles.

  • Sorry, but I just don't agree. TDB was not medium sized, it was small and beyond CE it was awful (and there is a good reason it's considered one of the worst DLC's of all time by some reviewers) and HoW was not large given that it could be beaten in a matter of 5 hours. We had 1 small, 1 small-mid and then TTK was large (but was not an entire game it was 10-12 hours of new content MAX and some more hours of rehashed year 1 content that wasn't new). I think people need perspective too, not going to disagree with you on that one, but I just don't believe that a company who will outright lie to their customers (as they did about SBMM) has any respect for their players. They will respect the players enough to not lose them, no more. TTK would be the only DLC put out to date that I would say is even close to the level of the Borderlands DLC (most of which was highly praised). I also think these "events" like the Halloween one and Valentines day (which was a totally stupid event within the Destiny universe and a shooter) should have been free as they literally added nothing new to the game (I don't consider 2 new shaders which were slight tweaks to existing shaders and reskinned ghosts new content). SRL would be the only thing I would agree was actually new content and ultimately as much as I am totally embarrassed to admit, I bought a bit of silver (which I still haven't used all of and never will) so this content wasn't free as I gave them money for nothing (after they said microtransactions would fund the year 2 events before I realized the events were mostly garbage). I'm not saying "free" content is a bad thing, it's not free to me, but I don't think Bungie deserves any applause. This is a player retention tactic for the business, not a gesture of good will.

  • Just remember Bungie doesnt drive the business. If Activision wasn't a public entitity they would be able to discuss more but as much as we see this as entertainment it is a business. Bungie is doing all they can in my book to keep everyone appeased but you have to realize they have to play by a very strict set of rules. I will agree to disagree because there is anough content for us all to still talk about on a forum. Everyone seems to want more more more but the reality is the game so damn fun we still play it and talk about it.

  • Oh they definitely are on things like new content without a doubt. Activision is holding those purse strings. I do think that Bungie has made some horrible decisions that Activision wouldn't have anything to do with (like nerfing the economies and adding more layers of RNG). End of the day, they are both responsible since they both signed the contract knowing the rules of engagement. You do raise a good point though, even though I stopped playing the game in about mid-oct (other than an hour here and there to help a friend, but he stopped now too) I still hold out hope that Destiny 2 will be good. Maybe it's time for me to throw in the towel for good and delete it all!!!

  • Meh I have played every week since TTK dropped. Nothing to play for but I still enjoy hopping on with friends and challenging ourselves. Talesto only VOG was extremely fun.

  • After spending WAY too much time in the game last year (and being bored throughout a lot of it) strictly because it was the social outlet with friends, I think I've come to realize I just don't think I enjoy repetitive grinding games. It honestly feels like a big hamster wheel for me. I like being challenged with difficult content, not fighting a random-number-generator to get a piece of loot to run the same level again. Year 2 really broke the spell for me. I really hope Destiny 2 turns out to be a way better game with way more to do!!!!!!!! I just really wish that the forums were more objective. Way too many hate filled Bungie and Destiny posts and also way too many emotion hype posts claiming Bungie can do no wrong. The truth lies somewhere in between both sides (there are some great things in Destiny and so absolutely dumb things too). Honestly, I'm not one to insult people who like certain types of entertainment, if you enjoy it, fill your boots ;)
