Just kidding. It's actually pretty fairly easy to get there, I just have a couple of problems.
My friends.
ELO isn't everything. K/D isn't everything. BUT is does give a baseline estimate of their skills. It's not to say a group that can coordinate can go to Mercury at an average ELO of 1100. I've seen it happen.
And I'm not saying I'm a PvP God, although I can definitely hold my own vs anyone else. I love all PvP in every game I've ever played.
But if I'm running a 1400+ ELO and a positive Trials K/D, and my friends are around 900+... It is detrimental to the journey. Especially when I don't even care to go. At 319.9 light, the lighthouse loot box would have to drop all 320 gear for me to benefit.
Beyond that, my friends are the ones grabbing me up for Trials as if I could carry; I am not that kind of good. I can carry my own ass, my backpack isn't big enough for anyone else.
But I'll keep grinding it out with them because, hey, they are my friends and having fun with them is what's important. Maybe next month we can make it there...
Maybe..
Anyone else having this kind of issue? You better than your immediate friends, but you don't wanna give them up?
Edit: Just to reiterate: the source of my frustration is not that I think I'm better or I'm mad at my friends, but I feel a lot of the pressure is due to they believe the strength of my snipes or tilt pressure can carry the team. I've had a good bit of clutches in tight spots, but it isn't always in my favor.
Just gonna have to keep pushing hard and hope they pick up some more ass kicker skills while we're on a tear.
Lots of positive support! Thanks!
Edit: Trending!
Edit: OMFG I MADE IT TO THE LIGHTHOUSE TONIGHT!!!!! First time ever!!!!!! I'm gonna pimp walk to that chest so slow, I'ma lag out from inactivity.

I can't get to the Lighthouse in Year 2. I just can't. Guess I just suck lol, here's my stats; https://my.destinytrialsreport.com/xbox/finratman

I just got depressed because I can only see the Lighthouse with a telescope

I used to have this problem. My friends would be holding me back from playing the way I wanted to play. I'm not saying you should leave them, but I found new friends who I play with all the time when were online. 900 ELO though. Damn. I once played with someone from "down there". Got a win on the first game and he was ecstatic. Got the armour piece and he couldn't believe what was going on. Think from their position. Their crucible reality is to be beaten by those better than them. So to them, you are someone who can win. That's why they "latch" onto you. When my friends ask me to play with them, though we aren't going flawless, I am having fun and getting passage coins.
-
Too much emphasis on sniping, weapon choice is imperative. Good for you man.
-
Sad loot. That's the reason I don't raid or trials. Work to reward ratio is all kinds of -blam!-ed

Im also a pretty good player im just bad at revives My problem is when i started playing trials everytime i was last guardian standing my teamates would just keep saying COME REVIVE ME! it put alot of pressure on someone who is a beginner at trials or is not that good I suggest you try not to challenge too much and wait for the right time to get the revive Ive gotten waay better at trials just watching videos and making right decisions If im really going for the flawless i look for people who can hold their own weight and if im playing for fun i just play with my best buds or whoever i just really enjoy playing trials If u are good enough to take someone flawless u should I know the feeling of not being able to get there I didnt get there until year 2 What im really going for right now is the scarab emblem Saturday i played like 8 games after i got flawless and i still didnt get it Ugh If u r looking to get better at sniping u should check out truevanguards videos on youtube

I understand your pain completely. None of my friends care enough to go to the lighthouse but I love playing all games with them even if they aren't the most competitive in pvp.
-
Can't get there, doubt I ever will cri evrrytim
-
You can't hold your own against anyone maybe 90% of the community but that 10% would smash you and make you feel silly

Grats

Well done man;)

I have a friend who will empathize with you. To us he's a god at videogames, especially FPS shooters. We put a lot of pressure on him to carry us and refused to believe he couldn't do it. Once reality set in I started feeling so bad. Once a scrub, always a scrub :-(
-
I know, its just so easy to do. Like, everyone has been there already.
-
Sup with pple with crap kd has the heart of scarab emblem. And they asked for all of these requirements just to find out they suck. Whatever.
-
Yea unfortunately I just can't get my buddy there lol
-
Yeah I still haven't made it there yet. It's annoying.
-
Was on win 6 and played a team that went flawless. Nice matchmaking system bungie you -blam!-ing retards have one job
-
All my friends already went flawless and all of them have worse stats than me.

http://youtu.be/bGlpFUatZ64 The players we played here are around 1500-1700 I think I'm around 1700-1800 ATM I believe I actually played really bad this game but besides the point My 2 mates have over 2k & 2kds, this game would be worth watching from someone else's PoV but unfortunately I'm bad.

I got the water star this weekend myself Seen 2 people get inward lamps 2 people get reflection sums & 4 water stars :') Didn't see one doctrine drop felt so bad for them
