It goes as such:
Prison of Elders is reworked and light leveled-up to the new light cap. Starting at the lowest light arena, you get "taken" VoG gear. Then "taken" crota gear, so forth and so on. And at the highest level, "taken" versions of any of the raid gear drops at the highest light, randomly. This includes weapons.
Have a good day with this knowledge in mind.
EDIT: I cannot post my source, when April comes you will see. Thank you.
EDIT EDIT: Keep discussing, guardians. April Update will show this to be true.
Edit #3: For all the naysayers: you have an opinion, fair enough. Let the update show you. Make sure to Necro this post and look at how doubtful you were.
FINAL EDIT: What Urk said does not invalidate this. I said it means that gear drops in updated PoE, which isn't the old raids.
FINAL FINAL EDIT: Looking deeper, Urk claims old gear won't return. But wasn't Darkhollow and "Harrowed" Darkhollow gear listed as completely separate? Do keep that in mind.
LAST MINUTE UPDATE: The new strike, Blighted Chalice, will be in the Hellmouth and involves Fallen who have mistakenly freed Malok, whom we all know from the Hunter legendary helmet listed in the armory.

cant wait when you're wrong
-
I doubt it.
-
Bullshit. If your source knew this much, he'd know the new light level cap too. Funny how you left that part out. You know nothing. You're guessing based on available information. You're not the first person to try this.
-
You know nothing John Snow.
-
My wish is to have an infection game mode where one guardian becomes taken 10 seconds into the match, that guardian them only has a sword while all others have a sidearm
-
If this is TRUE then bungie sucks. And if this IS true i guarandamntee theyll take the year 1 raids and update them for the "paid" expansion later this year. And if THAT'S the case then kiss your fan base goodbye bungo lol 👋

I outsourced your source to sort through all sorts of rumors and here say. They came up with the same sort: that image is from the new strike where you fight 3 taken guardians at the end. PoE is actually the lastthing anyone is asking for an update on.
-
So you get VOG and Crota gear from POE?
-
without proof it is just another attention grabber.. provide your source or its not worth a pinch of salt.
-
It's going to have new reskinned armors and new reskinned guns with a new harrowed etheric light. Also, they're going to add a new level progression stat called "darkness points", the higher it gets, the more damage you do.

Sounds legit

Sounds awesome

HARROWED ETHERIC LIGHT

You have failed to answer my question.

I call BS
-
I'd prefer a shader because it'd look awkward wearing a Taken helmet with my regular vestments.
-
I will only see this as legit if the thread gets banned. Seeing as it's been almost 3 hours since your last edit, I don't think so.

Edited by Spam Cannon41: 3/21/2016 4:22:58 PMIMHO - while I'd welcome a "refresh" of PoE, I kinda feel this would be a lame update/DLC/expansion/add-on/whateveryouwannacallit. I'd want ALL Y1 content brought up, not just PoE. And even then, where's the NEW content, not just recycled SOS?

I think he's right. Just think about it: we're getting a new expansion next September, and Destiny 2 in early 2017. Between now and then, I'd say we've got two more "free" updates (including the April one). The Dawning has yet to arrive, which I'm guessing will be an event sometime in the Summer. In other words, they don't have enough time to release all the raids in three separate updates. If they release them all in one update though (and then add more gear with The Dawning), it should take us right up to the next Expansion in September.

To be "taken" requires a living host. Gear is inanimate. "Taken" Armor then would basically ignore one of the most basic parts of the Taken King story and would make absolutely no sense. A shader, on the other hand, makes perfect sense, because theoretically (if you're trying to fit it into the story) it could have been developed as a way to infilitrate the enemy and learn more about them or sabotage them from the inside. If you're right though it just continues the tradition of story meaning absolutely nothing in this game.

Edited by aNudistBuddhist: 3/21/2016 3:44:27 PMMy source told me that your source is incorrect.
-
i'd remind people to take this and any other April Update speculation with a healthy pinch of salt, but here on the bnet forums we're swimming in the stuff already, so i wont bother.
-
He might be right, if you look at the picture for it, the guardians are wearing Prisoners of Elders armor....just saying
-
I would have given you the benefit of the doubt until you said Taken versions of raid weapons. I'll wait with baited breath, but for sure I won't be holding it.
