Just putting it out there, this is me looking for confirmation that I'm in the right here...
It's also very long.
So, I've just been looking around and I found someone who seems to believe that the term desticle is someone who is anti-destiny.
(Stupid right?)
Well, I commented, saying (s)he was wrong. Then went on to call them a desticle... They were saying that people who post "goodbye posts" are the scum of the earth (pretty much).
I disproved them by leaving a link to the urban dictionary definition of a desticle.
They went on to say that that was fake. (A couple of meaningless posts later and I gave up). Well, until I saw them call someone else a "queer". This upset me, not because I'm LGBT, but I know people who are.
I said I was going to report them, to see if they knew how offensive it was, then reported them.
After that they called me a queer, as well as a crybaby (pretty childish for someone calling me: "kid" all the way through this)
I called them a homophobe - they said it was not offensive towards gay people.
So I posted a link to the Wikipedia definition of the word, as well as a quote from the urban dictionary definition, saying: 'it is extremely offensive when used to describe someone'.
They say that I am, just as much, in the wrong for calling them a desticle.
I say that's an irrational comparison.
To which, they respond:
So now we are defining how derogatory a name is? Do you have some kind of scale you use? You're okay with derogatory name-calling as long as it doesn't have any association with a gay person? You're a special kind of person, aren't you?
Why are gaming communities like this? It really sickens me!
Please tell me if you think I did something wrong. (Bear in mind that this account may be biased towards myself, although I think it's as neutral as possible).
