Just kidding. It's actually pretty fairly easy to get there, I just have a couple of problems.
My friends.
ELO isn't everything. K/D isn't everything. BUT is does give a baseline estimate of their skills. It's not to say a group that can coordinate can go to Mercury at an average ELO of 1100. I've seen it happen.
And I'm not saying I'm a PvP God, although I can definitely hold my own vs anyone else. I love all PvP in every game I've ever played.
But if I'm running a 1400+ ELO and a positive Trials K/D, and my friends are around 900+... It is detrimental to the journey. Especially when I don't even care to go. At 319.9 light, the lighthouse loot box would have to drop all 320 gear for me to benefit.
Beyond that, my friends are the ones grabbing me up for Trials as if I could carry; I am not that kind of good. I can carry my own ass, my backpack isn't big enough for anyone else.
But I'll keep grinding it out with them because, hey, they are my friends and having fun with them is what's important. Maybe next month we can make it there...
Maybe..
Anyone else having this kind of issue? You better than your immediate friends, but you don't wanna give them up?
Edit: Just to reiterate: the source of my frustration is not that I think I'm better or I'm mad at my friends, but I feel a lot of the pressure is due to they believe the strength of my snipes or tilt pressure can carry the team. I've had a good bit of clutches in tight spots, but it isn't always in my favor.
Just gonna have to keep pushing hard and hope they pick up some more ass kicker skills while we're on a tear.
Lots of positive support! Thanks!
Edit: Trending!

I used to have this problem. My friends would be holding me back from playing the way I wanted to play. I'm not saying you should leave them, but I found new friends who I play with all the time when were online. 900 ELO though. Damn. I once played with someone from "down there". Got a win on the first game and he was ecstatic. Got the armour piece and he couldn't believe what was going on. Think from their position. Their crucible reality is to be beaten by those better than them. So to them, you are someone who can win. That's why they "latch" onto you. When my friends ask me to play with them, though we aren't going flawless, I am having fun and getting passage coins.
