Okay, so ive seen alot of posts about Sunsingers and how "op" they are and its getting annoying.
Lets compare the infamous firebolt with the hunters "Wombo combo".

- Does a TOTAL of *** damage, not enough to kill even the lowest of armored guardians.(SEE EDIT)
-Has DoT for around 12 seconds (some say 14, some say 10)
-Firebolt has an 8m radius in which it tags.

Good for crowd control and good defensive technique. Does allow "tracking" by watching the DoT BUUUUUT warlocks are the slowest and clunkiest race so it is harder to chase the enemy. <---- thats called trade off. Warlocks can be situationally amazing and of course they will be harder to kill.. its a defensive subclass and is built that way.

-Takes away radar
-cuts movement speed by 50%
-does damage
-blinds the enemy visually
-locks abilities, supers, charged melees and jumps
^-----thats just the "Smoke" portion of the grenade.
Their void grenade choices all do damage and can visually impair other guardians trying to see or shoot through it.
BUT wombo requires both grenades to be thrown to be 100% effective. Dont forget how they [i]can[/i] be thrown virtually simultaneously.
Its trade off. If the hunters had all of that in just ONE grenade then theyd actually be op.. but they aren't.
TL;DR
[b][i][u]Neither are op and excel in certain situations better then other subclasses. But if you proceed to call one of them op in anyway then you HAVE to consider the other one as such.[/u][/i][/b]

Im NOT saying firebolt and wombo is the same style or do the same things. What i AM saying is that most who consider firebolt "op" due to just its DoT must thrn consider wombo as "op" because wombo has 4 times the effects on an enemy and while it does take 2 charges, its also on a character that is faster then warlocks, has access to an evade and keen scout.
You cant consider something op due to one fact while ignoring classes that have alot of advantages similar in concept.[/i][/b]

How many other grenades do that? Many. My question for you is how many grenades do that no matter where in the blast you are? There are only three. The wombo combo, the firebolt, and the trip mine. Out of those, the trip mine is easy to dodge. Lightning grenades are similar, but only do 122 per hit and are easy enough to avoid the second burst.

Very good post, you are the first person that opened a thread on this forum that knows the concept of pro and contra ^~^ I'm a hunter main so I'm happy that you see our problem with using 2 nades at once. I don't use the wombo combo very often but I know it's a win if I decide it's worth both Charges. Firebolts on the other hand is always as effective and I think that most people complain about it because the arcbolt got nerfed into the ground. Maybe really remove viking funeral, but more importantly give the sunsinger other options for their melee, that shits way stronger than any wombo combo burn :)

It's all fair to admit that Firebolts w/ Viking Funeral and Touch of Flame is obnoxious. It is also safe to say that Flame Shield is over powered as well. What is the super of a Sunsinger? Just those two things. What is broken about nightstalker? The shadestep glitch. That is all that is broken tbh.

Smoke, shadestep, and keen scout are all OP, but nighstalker has worse grenades than most classes (no tracking, no sticky, no frag) and using both shadestep and keen scout require exotic armor. Still, 2 (3) OP things for sub-par grenades are worth it! Nightstalker is definitely OP, just a bit behind the warlocks.

Never understood why arcbolts were nerfed when they have the same tracking mechanics and used to hit for 122, and firebolts avoided the nerf and hit for 40 more..

I personally think they both should be changed, and I am a hunter main. Both are obnoxious to deal with, getting hit by the combo/fire bolt just leaves you feeling helpless.

I wouldn't be surprised if wombo is nerfed and warlocks left untouched. Even though some people have made comments about the Bungie stream and the fact the warlocks didn't get an overshield on melee.
