Sunsingers op?!?! If so then so are nightstalkers.

Okay, so ive seen alot of posts about Sunsingers and how "op" they are and its getting annoying. Lets compare the infamous firebolt with the hunters "Wombo combo". [u][i]Firebolt[/i][/u] ------------------------ - Does a TOTAL of *** damage, not enough to kill even the lowest of armored guardians.(SEE EDIT) -Has DoT for around 12 seconds (some say 14, some say 10) -Firebolt has an 8m radius in which it tags. Does allow "tracking" by watching the DoT BUUUUUT warlocks are the slowest and clunkiest race so it is harder to chase the enemy. <---- thats called trade off. Warlocks can be situationally amazing and of course they will be harder to kill.. its a defensive subclass and is built that way. [u][i]Wombo Combo[/i][/u] ------------------------------ -Takes away radar -cuts movement speed by 50% -does damage -blinds the enemy visually -locks abilities, supers, charged melees and jumps ^-----thats just the "Smoke" portion of the grenade. Their void grenade choices all do damage and can visually impair other guardians trying to see or shoot through it. BUT wombo requires both grenades to be thrown to be 100% effective. Dont forget how they [i]can[/i] be thrown virtually simultaneously. Its trade off. If the hunters had all of that in just ONE grenade then theyd actually be op.. but they aren't. TL;DR [b][i][u]Neither are op and excel in certain situations better then other subclasses. But if you proceed to call one of them op in anyway then you HAVE to consider the other one as such.[/u][/i][/b] [b][i]Edit: So it seems alot of people are misunderstanding my point. Im NOT saying firebolt and wombo is the same style or do the same things. What i AM saying is that most who consider firebolt "op" due to just its DoT must thrn consider wombo as "op" because wombo has 4 times the effects on an enemy and while it does take 2 charges, its also on a character that is faster then warlocks, has access to an evade and keen scout. You cant consider something op due to one fact while ignoring classes that have alot of advantages similar in concept.[/i][/b] [b][i][u]Edit:[/u][/i][/b] [b][i][u]Alot of people keep saying that firebolts leave you at one shot.   • Firebolt nade problem isn't the damage but rather the time it primes you for death. Whereas a regular damage dealing nade will injure you you can spec to try and counter this sort of thing with high recovery stats, making your primed for death state only a few seconds. While firebolt nades with Viking funeral/burning touch takes you out of the fight for upwards of 10 seconds which regardless of how good you are, if you receive even a stiff fart worth of damage you're going down.

      • The [i]only[/i] issue I personally have with Firebolt nades (and this is coming from someone who mains a Sunsinger) is that the damage ticks too slow. It leaves you or of combat/recovery for a bit too long compared to other grenades that do similar/more damage. Only thing they should tweak is increasing the speed at which the damage occurs, enabling someone who took the nade and survived/escaped a better chance at recovering quicker. Otherwise I feel Sunsingers are no more OP than any other class when played right. [spoiler]*All of this is my [i]opinion[/i] on potential changes*[/spoiler]

              • Imagine if people realised this wasn't cod, all subclasses are meant for different purposes, different play styles, some characters are better to run and gun straight into the action and some are better to hang back and support, blade dancer? Get your ass in there with a hand cannon/shotgun build! Sunsinger? Get that scout out and maybe a sniper too, all supers are situational, you can't get pissed at being shut down by a another super if you activate your sunbreaker or whatever right next to a Titan that's been throwing lightning nades around, you know he's gonna smash you through the floor, if you pop your storm caller next to a hunter who's shade stepping around, there's a high chance you'll taste a tether!

                    • Having a crazy Op grenade is the only complaint i have. Everything else about the class is just fine, other than the radiant skin, with the right combo you can survive a sniper shot to the head, if anything i would lower the armor resistance with that by a smidge, remove DoT damage, (what i mean is instead of having 7 tick across the screen, have it show nothing but that person still takes the damage from DoT), and increase burn rate so instead of being out of combat for 14 or so seconds the burn damage goes fast enough you can start regen and have full health back within 6 or 7 seconds. And decrease burn from 7 to 6. Everything else about the class is fine, if anything id buff self rez to have a small area of blindness, (sorta like that Y1 exotic i forgot the name of) but a smaller area, with that Y1 exotic it would just increase blind radius or time, something like that.

                      • The only thing wrong with nightstalker is that the smoke damges you, blinds you, takes away your radar and slows you down. That's a bit much.

                      • Wombo Combo is harder to hit precisely, avoidable and takes away your melee and grenade Firebolt + perks is autoaim (well, fairly easy to land) hard to avoid, unless skilled shadestepper and is only a grenade

                      • You have a valid point.. And in addition if firebolts get nerfed sunsingers will be more worthless than bungies devs- however i argue that both should be nerfed, that's coming from a guy who mains a nightstalker. The following response is "so make sungsingers worthless"... No.. I heard someone i think it was true vanguard in a party chat say something like take away viking funeral and give them quickdraw- thats a phenomenal idea! The sungsingers neutral game way too OP just like nightstalker so i feel both need to be dumbed down a little.. Like nkuch jhst said shadestep is the most broken thing in the game- shadestep glitch needs to be fixed immediately, and the cooldown needs to be increased by 2 or 3 seconds.. In addition the tether needs fixed because the anchors are to slow and i feel that when the tether impacts the ground there should be a suppressor grenade and speaking of suppressor grenades why doesnt the class that is supposed to be counter super have suppression grenades?? No they get 3 aoe grenades

                                  • We just tested the damage from firebolt on lowest armor and it did 163 damage, not even close to doing enough to be considered OP. Just inhale exhales nightstalkers the tag is real. ;P
