I play all three classes. I have around 17000 kills in the crucible with each. I don't main nor do I have any desire too. Unbiased OPINION.
Increase the speed of the DOT (recovery should be instant after taking DOT.) Flame Shield on Kill. Buff radiance, solar wind, brimstone, and sunburst.
Leave wombo alone. It takes two charges and not all the damage is guaranteed, even if it hits.

Flameshield should only be on kill if you buff it to 100 hp and increase its duration. My whole point is based off of trade off. Wombo takes 2 charges yes, they can be thrown simultaneously, damage isnt the problem as it leaves the enemy easily catchable and weak enough to clean up with a primary. The trade off is that it takes 2 but does more then any grenade combo in the entire game. ^---kind of like how firebolt leaves you one-shot. I appreciate the respect in how you commented btw.

Edited by Fridén: 3/23/2016 2:36:06 PMFlame shield should not grant 100 additional hip points, even on kill. This is rivaling the defender class, which does not get bonus damage. It's 122 with or without a charge. Scorch does (from my understanding) 150+ damage, and that goes to 175+ with Viking funeral. 50 hp is fair considering is it the highest damaging melee, with the most range (less storm caller of course.) Making it on kill would be fair considering everything else it does. All things considered, this is the superior melee in the game. (Buffing the other melee nodes to compensate as well, currently, flame shield is really the only choice, it's stupid.) Enemies are easily catchable if wombo hits, I agree but there is no tracking and travel time when it's thrown. My personally opinion that it is easier to avoid. (Obviously, one place perfectly, that isn't going to happen, but that doesn't happen often.) Also, if you don't have both charges, the grenades are subpar and smokes damage is minimal. I really don't have an issue with firebolts damage, just how long it does it. Doubling the speed of the DOT or given some form of a recovery boost after taking DOT is needed though. (Skips grenades actually do just as much damage, if all the skips hit.)

If you keep it at 50 hp and require it to have a shield then it loses its competitiveness . The reason why defenders make it competitive is because it lasts longer, has more hp and paired with no back up plans makes it a monster to have in cqc. Because of that, i would request added effects be put on the melee if it only procs on kill. I can agree with flame shield being the only valuable perk in regards to how minimal the other perks are. Buffing them would make switching it up more viable option while still remaining competitive. Firebolt may be easier to use in casual hands but when it comes to equally skilled people, bothbwill bebjust as effective. If we cant agree on it then we must agree to disagree.

Edited by Fridén: 3/23/2016 3:21:52 PMReally almost anything in skilled hands can be made competitive. I just find it hard to compare a single grenades damage an versatility to combination of abilities. I think your argument is fair. Firebolt adheres to more casual players, but the better nightstalker can cause just as much angst to a player as a Firebolt grenade. Defenders melee is built around force barrier, which is why it lasts longer and why it has more HP. Lets not throw exotic builds into the mix here. Yes, no back up planes is a great setup with a shotgun, but that is another argument. The sunsingers melee is not built around the additional shield. It is built around the range and damage. Flame shield is only a bonus. This is what separates it from the defender. Without force barrier, Disintegrate is worthless, without flame shield, you still have the best melee in the game.
