Death Note: KIRA or L?
For those of you who don't know, [i]Death Note[/i] is an anime about a japanese highschooler (Light Yagami) who finds a notebook which can kill a person if you write his/her name in it, while imagining their face while writing the name. He is extremely smart, and that intelligence is extremely dangerous. He begins killing criminals all over the world with the notebook in order to create a "New world" that he is the god of. A detective with a hidden identity, however, tries to catch kira (A difficult job that could end up getting himself killed if his identity were revealed) by looking at evidence of killings. This anime is unique because of the way you can choose a side, so I'd like to see what #Offtopic thinks of this.

I think that L is better.

I think light was doing the right thing but L is kind of cool and Ryuk is a little funny so I can't really choose

Light Yagami was a psychopath and murderer who ruined the lives of everyone he came in contact with.

TBH I thought they ruined Light at the end. He gets unnecessarily cocky, to the point where he's being outsmarted by a small child. If the show ended with him killing L or if L killed him, that would've been better.

1 ReplyRyuk, obviously. He had no agenda whatsoever aside from personal amusement. L was a pretty cool character, but they played into the whole "reclusive genius" a bit too much imo. Light was just a pretentious dick who believed himself worthy of godhood.
