Outside of the raid what incentive was there to be over 310-312? I did KF normal once, got crap and IB for the rest of my 310+ gear. I never noticed my 311 toons being out gunned by anyone with a higher light... Outside of hard mode I saw no need and since I couldn't be f'd to do the raid I saw no incentive.

I just enjoyed raiding with my friends.

Perfect reason right there. I would have tried KF more if all my friends hadn't already left, but now I have joined them. We will all come back for the update but not sure how long that will satisfy our destiny needs.
