With the release of Tom Clancy's The Division, it has become abundantly clear that Destiny's lifespan has reached its end. No major expansion content is planned, and the majority of Bungie's team is focusing on Destiny II, with only a small skeleton crew remaining to tend for Destiny.
The simple fact of the matter that Destiny has far passed its peak level of activity. Players are leaving en masse to the competition like Tom Clancy's The Division, and at this rate Destiny will be on life support before the sequel is even announced. Destiny and the population within is not sustainable, despite the microtransactions.
Therefore, I propose Bungie throw out some dead weight, so to speak, and cease support for Destiny as soon as Destiny II hits store shelves. Before then, I think it would be prudent to scale back support for the last generation versions of the game (Xbox 360 and PS3), seeing as those consoles are obsolete.
Trying to hold on to a population that's dropping day by day is like trying to grip a wet bar of soap tightly; it doesn't work. Best not to waste time and money supporting a game that players don't support, and focus all your attention on the future.
You're welcome.

Division has no pvp only. That's what's going to kill it for me. Plus the dark zone just drops frames on Xbox one all day long. It's not lag it's stuttering/frame rate crashes and it's driving me crazy.

Lmfao, muted.

Edited by ddjet: 3/26/2016 10:32:37 PMHahaha LMFAO. I don't know why but this just seemed so stupidly random.

Both Destiny and Division have the same issue: Not enough content to keep gamers busy or even interested and it's the main issue with online games like this. It's nearly impossible for a company to keep up with the pace gamers burn through the content.

My console is not obsolete as it still turns on and spins a disc. That includes my N64. A console is not obsolete until it is not functional.
-
Only reason i am not playing Destiny is cuz my PS4's hdmi is broken and I have Data Structure projects to do such as implementing a Binary Search Tree. Academics > Destiny. Otherwise, Destiny > Life* *"Does not include batteries. Food, sleep, bathroom use and showers not included; purchased separately"

I dont have words that can convey the aneurysm of idiot thought processes this guy miraculously formed into words. On one hand his facts were pulled from the same garbage can he uses as his bathroom. Destiny has content coming in less then a month (fact). Also destinys life has show decay due to the long lack of content but still 10,000 people play trials every weekend which indicates its servers are being used even 1.5 years in (haphazard number taken from trials report i looked at last week frain of salt folks). On second hand theres the division or i like to call it the one hitter quitter, you know because weeks after release its plumitting. Lets just call this post what it is. A poor guy spent hundreds on the division anticipating a game he would play for the rest of his poor lonely life. Unfortunately like for most games it was to a AAA title like what a french fry was to a starving person. It was incredible at first but sadly not enough to fill the hunger.

Edited by gilded_hotdog: 3/26/2016 3:19:12 PMDivision has same carrot on a stick but a less appealing one. The end game so far is trying to get better drops or buy them then go kill players that are trying to do the same. I know they have a raid type thing coming but is it anything other then buildings full of sponge enemies? Not just the bosses even the rats take a full clip to kill.

Edited by Br4k3d0wN: 3/26/2016 5:17:13 AMPeople are already leaving The Division. Destiny gets new players every day, even now.

Edited by OhtheHugeManity: 3/26/2016 4:56:19 AMNever to mention that the support they do give gets choke-slammed by the community

You know, i played Dishonored recently and felt quite satisfied when i finished it and the DLC. I think the problem with Destiny is that it never gave a complete experience because of the terrible story and that it was chopped apart. So i would agree with you only if i felt there was a satisfactory ending. Which sadly there isn't. I missed the complete experience with destiny.

Lol if it is already dead why are you here?

Looks like another Dividiot came here to defend the division.

Edited by Dooodley: 3/26/2016 1:56:29 AMYou should visit the Division forums. The game is just over 2 weeks old and people are already claiming that their friends have left the game, they have no one to play with, there's no content and the little content there is isnt playable for people who dont have friends around etc. Now, you could argue that the DZ is down to personal prefernces and that it's possible to work around the friend problem but what's absolutely a fact is that the game is full of bugs. Matchmaking is just a disaster, with people not transfering correctly, constantly falling through the map when zoning in, random mission zoning, missions not activating so that you have to leave group and restart the whole process etc etc. The point is; While the Division might have caught the attention of a good deal of players at the moment it's not the main reason Destiny activity has gone down. The activity in this game is nothing but a reflection of this game's current state, which is poor. People were basically pushed toward the competition, whether they were that interested in it or not (like me, I had no great interest in the Division but it's currently filling a void). The Division will have no longterm impact on my Destiny activity but I'm worried that my absensce in itself will. Hell, regardless of the Division I probably wouldnt have played Destiny atm - nor am I interested in a tweaked variant of a game mode I didnt play when it was first released.

I've already left division. I grinded my ass off and got 150k damage and most of the end game gear. There's nothing to get or accomplish now. At least Destiny had an huge supply of end-game content.

when trying to grip a wet bar of soap, point it away to inflict maximum damage.

I'm sorry you never learned how to read. But not really sorry. They do have a plan for a future expansion and people have been theorizing what it could entail.

Wow OP has final word in all aspects of life. Guess I'll break my disc and question life. Idiot.
