How come holding the spear didnt kill him then? It was a kypronite spear

It just makes him sucepeptable to attacks, not instant death. Since doomsday is at equal strength to superman and he is kryptonian he is able to damage him. Plus since it was a movie it is not canon and is not able to be used when discussing what powers heroes have. In the comics he is 3 times the speed of light and can survive 50 supernova's at a time.
