Entry 5It's been two days since the interrogation. Vandals guard us twenty four seven, as if we are some kind of threat.
A servitor stops by every two days with ether rations. I've been studying the guards. There are twelve of them, working in eleven hour shifts. We are taken out of our cells twice a day for an hour to do mindless tasks, like polishing pikes.
But all is not lost. I have begun stealing parts from when we fix or polish machines. Zelkir and Skoei are in on it too. We haft to be extremely careful, because if we are caught it's our deaths. I haft to go now, guards are coming.
Later
A guard enters the cell.
"Get up." Says the guard stiffly.
I stand up quickly, not wanting to get hurt.
"Follow me."
"Where to?"
"I'll tell you later."
I follow him through the base, hands cuffed.
He brings me to a door and says " The Kell will call you when she is ready.". He seemed totally Unphased by this, but why me, a prisoner, would be called in front of a Kell was beyond me.
A few minutes later I hear a voice say "Enter" and the door opens. I walk in and cover my eyes, the room was bright compared to the dim base.
There, on the throne, is the Kell. A little bigger than a captain at this point, it was still obvious she used to be a vandal. She is wearing very minimal armor, and she is wearing many rings and necklaces
"Welcome, Ezkor."
"What do you want from me?" I growled.
"Ahh, so impolite. This will not do."
She snaps her fingers and a guard pushes me roughly to my knees.
"That's better."
"What do you want with me?"
"That's simple. We know you've been stealing things, but I'm not here to punish you."
This surprised me, I had been exceptionally careful to not be seen.
"You've shown yourself resourceful, so I have a proposal for you. You give us information on the House of Devils, and we release you."
Betray my house? Never!
"Never." I growl angrily
"We'll see. Guards, take him away."
It was a few minutes after the interview that the alarms went off. The guards rushed off to help, with what, we didn't care or know.
"Quickly! I need the wire!" I shout at Zelkir. Reaching my arm out at an angle through the bars. I feel the wire and grave it, and I begin wrapping it around a pike's exhaust pipe.
"Battery!" I ask Skoei. He passes me a makeshift battery, and I plug it in to the device. I attach the wires to meal prongs and put a stripped price of wire across it. I wait for it to heat up and I cut my bars open wide enough to crawl through. I ran to the armory and got our stuff.
We finally get out and we start running through the base, retracing our steps. We reached the hanger bay and saw fallen running at us. Zelkir threw a shock grenade at them and we ran down rows of skiffs. We jumped in one and turned on the turret systems.
We were in the air in seconds with Skoei at the helm. He activated the grenade silos while me and Zelkir rained shock grenades off off the deployment rails.
It was a success. We managed to destroy half their fleet and damage the rest. We took off passed through the cloaking barrier.
We had one goal. Warn the houses.
