Just like the loot drop boosters were removed from the armory, yeah? Or that microphone gun? It's far easier just to leave that in and not allow users to access it than to remove it.

  • These are not analogous examples or situations at all. Drop boosters were not in any trailers that I am aware of for the DLC itself. The Exotics were. Again, if the Exotics were shown in some E3 video, that's one thing. Any gamer should know that all of that could change as it's still in development. A trailer, basically a commercial for a product that includes something even visually, better be there at release. This was not some E3 demo, this was a commercial, encouraging you to buy the DLC, that visually showed things heavily implied to be in said product/game/DLC. As to your point about things that were removed still being in the armory, the fact that you state it was "removed" clearly shows it existed and was there to begin with (and being in the armory illustrates). So they removed it and left the carcass in the armory, that's fine. But it was "removed" meaning it did exist and was taken out. Even if that is the same thing with the Exotics, that means they were A) advertised to be in a product you had to spend money on and B) were "removed" further illustrating (along with the armory) that they should have been in game by now (or by some point in the TTK life cycle).

  •
Drop boosters were not in any trailers that I am aware of
Because a fancy-faced helmet looks interesting. A person popping a consumable ins't.
A trailer, basically a commercial for a product that includes something even visually, better be there at release.
Ideally, but it's not like Bungie (and other devs) haven't changed things from commercials in the past.
the fact that you state it was "removed" clearly shows it existed
The concept existed. Clearly the 3D models do. But the gear as a whole may have not. This is not a hard concept.

Doesn't matter which is more interesting. The Exotics were in a commercial for a product. /end I can't think of too many "finished game" commercials I have seem where something changed this drastically/impactfully. E3 demos, yes. Actual commercials for a game or DLC that comes out in the next month or so (the usual advertising time frame before launch), no, not really. I do recall seeing game (and other product) commercials that have fine print on the screen that said product is subject to change and I don't recall that being in this commerial. Again, this is a commercial, not a game demo. One is a work in progress. One is advertising to get you to spend money. This is not a hard concept as you say about the next item. Neither you nor I know what actually did or did not exist. In my argument, I at least have visual evidence of said items being used and a strong implication of them existing, fully realized. Your position seems to be "i pulled this out of thin air" argument with no even anecdotal evidence. Not a hard concept indeed.

  •
Doesn't matter which is more interesting. The Exotics were in a commercial for a product
It does, because they won't waste commercial time on something boring. Where were all the TTK commercials advertising the gunsmith? There were zero, because explosions are more interesting.
I at least have visual evidence of said items being used
You have strong visual evidence of them existing visually. If I build a fancy-ass box and tell you it's a teleporter, without turning it on, you have no reason to believe me. Similarly, we saw none of the predicted effects of the exotics in the trailer, only that their models exist. Thus, it could very well be the case that the art department finished their work, but the game designers were still working on the perks.
