It's a fair point, one I wonder many times. Though as you know there are two sides to every coin. When there's literally no way to derive meaning from words that they never had I begin to question the reader. That reader is you.

All words have meaning, your choice of words portrayed a meaning you had stood against yesterday. It comes down to the writers fault.
