A Halo ring is too fragile. The Ark would need insane shielding. Requiem definitely would have shielding, but would it be enough?

Halos have shields they could activate, so would the Ark I would imagine. It's up in the air how strong they are though.

A Halo is fragile, you're correct there, but where's the Death Star hitting exactly? The Ark is gigantic, the one we saw in Halo 3 is it's Lesser, according to what I know. Requiem surely has enough hull strength to refract some of the damage before taking a scar on it's outermost shell, along with the shields. It's a Warrior-Servant world after all.
