Would someone like to point out the thread/article where bungie PROMISED you these exotics? as far as I can tell they didn't even mention them once.

They were advertised in the launch trailer for TTK, and they're still visible in the armoury. No, nine didn't literally say "we promise" but most people expect a trailer released a month before the expansion, which would be after development had finished, to be an accurate model as to what would be in the game. In fact, everything in that trailer was in the game, except for those exotics.
