My first impressions
They are good. I played it earlier on Xbox One, it looks stunning and so far is interesting and fun. There's a lot of dialogue of course and collectables scattered about that add lots to the story, plenty to read (but you don't really have to).
There are few Easter eggs I have spotted already (how many Alan Wake references Remedy?).
The whole concept is pretty cool, how much fun is it slowing down time to disarm an entire security force? Or to follow up with a barrage of bullets to their heads through a pocket of time that causes extra damage? The answer is lots.
Yes there was bullet time in Max Payne but this feels different as you slow individuals or a section in time rather than slow everything down for a few brief moments. (But you can do that too).
Not played lots though so cannot really say how much action you will encounter in whole game.
I have not had a chance to watch any of the T.V shows that goes with it (you have to download these as well (around 60gbs). Apparently you don't have to download them it's just for if you you want to watch them offline.
I'd recommend worth doing this before playing, I'd have done it had I known.
These are my thoughts and early experiences others that played it may agree or disagree with me?

Won't be able to dig into it until the weekend. But I bought it and it's installed.
-
Good game. Was literally a movie though
-
Looks like a better version of Time Shift.
-
What little bit I played I love it so far.
-
Why is the recommend graphics card a GTX 980 TI
-
Yay for DirectX12! But holy hell, games are getting hefty.

Edited by watchmaniac25: 4/6/2016 3:40:13 PMI had posted a few days ago and said it looked pretty cool. After watching some playthrough videos, I have to say it looks like a lot of fun with some really cool mechanics. And I'm still only on ps4 :( enjoy the game everyone who picks it up. And forget the stupid ps4 trolls, they just jealous.
-
Noice review, may pick it up when my gaming plate isn't full lol. Was the free copy of Alan Wake only available via preorder?
-
Just FYI, it is not a requirement to DL the episodes. Only if you want to watch them offline.
-
The reviews are out and it says its bad And there is only 10 hours of gameplay Thats worse than what i expected
-
Looks Damn good, honestly imho, its the best graphics wise right now in xb1. The wife has been hooked most of the day and I get a stab at it soon enough.
Good post Bane. We need less spam and bickering in here.
-
How does a console even run that game? Those PC requirements seem a bit high if a Console can run it.
-
Seems to be getting good reviews.
-
I expect a 10 paragraph essay with pictures on it about the game and how good it is It must be due by April 15th
-
One of the main reasons I'm gonna get this game is due to the fact that Charlie from lost is in it.
-
Was gonna get it but I'm hearing it's only 10 hours of gameplay. $60 is a bit steep for 10 hours of play and I'm not even sure of replay value. I got a friend who's preordered it already if he says it's worth it I'll pick it up.
-
I expect a 500 word review on this thread before Friday morning! And pictures, pictures of Spiderman!
-
Not sure if want. Got plenty to play right now anyway: finally getting into Dark Souls, on a roll with H5 Customs and matchmaking frequently, and I bounce between Reach and Destiny for a break.
-
It looks like it's doing lots of interesting things, but I honestly don't care for it. I feel like I should.
-
Edited by Skiptrace: 4/4/2016 3:33:08 PMCan't wait! I'll be playing tomorrow.
-
Watching it on twitch and it looks awful, literally the majority of the game is showing the TV show lol
-
I'm enjoying the game a lot so far. The story seems very interesting and I like the combat. The graphics look awesome too so that's a plus. Just finished the first act and I'm already planning on a second play through to see what happens with the different choices. I'm glad I picked this up.
-
I'm.....idk interested but the 10 hour issue is really holding me back. I enjoyed Alan Wake but this one seems to go on the same route as The order 1886.
-
I'm still on the fence but I'll probably pick it up on PC when its on sale or something.
-
Yea there's like 2 people interested in this game. What a shit title
