• Lmfao. Right. Snipers are point and shoot. Ok there sir. Risk management? This game has -blam!-ing shields. The TTK is beyond long. Yeah man. Risk management. Walk through bullets and take that skilled buck shot of yours. Lmfao my god

  • TTK is under a second for most competitive guns. Not exactly long. I use snipers and shotguns; shotguns are much harder to consistently get kills with. You're at almost no risk while sniping, need no movement or situational awareness. Just point and shoot, checking radar on occasion to make sure nobody's attacking from behind. If they do flank you just use that "long" TTK you mentioned to effortlessly escape or snipe them. Its way too easy at the moment, snipers are effective even outside their alleged range band and while under heavy fire. Everything that was holding them in check has been nerfed into oblivion, and now you're scared Bungie is gonna do the same to your boring, easy to use crutch. So you pretend it takes skill to try and legitimise sniping, hoping Bungo will agree with you and let you lean on that crutch a while longer. It ain't gonna happen, and even if it does the players with close range guns will just find another game. Leaving you in sniper vs sniper fights, which isn't what you're after.

  • Pointing and shooting isn't going to net you any kills. You have to land headshots which does require skill, that's not even a question. Few snipers sit in the back and pick people off, many like myself, move around the map to different vantage points so having situational awareness is important so that we don't get flanked or are not in any open line of sight to get shot from anywhere other than right in front of us.

Except headshots aren't needed at all, swapping to primary for a one hit hill is easy. In any case headshots aren't hard to get. Its a skill, but so is using a shotgun. Shotguns by comparison have a tiny effective range band, if you're out by fractions of an inch you do almost no damage. All while exposed to huge amounts of danger. Yes you have to move to snipe, but at no point are you exposed to danger. Flankers are literally helpless unless thy also have a sniper rifle, any other weapon you just laugh off, evading or abusing the lack of sway to kill them. By all means try a shotgun in trials, see if it's easier or harder than your precious sniper rifle. The skills involved are different, but they're skills on the same level and one does not have a right to insult the other. My litmus test is this: If an option is so powerful that every player uses it over all others, that option is too powerful. Snipers are in that category and they need brought in line with other special weapons. Previously they could be challenged, now everything that kept them balanced has been nerfed the snipers need a similar action . Otherwise you get the current mode, all snipers all the time. Who does that benefit?
