Pros:
- Awesome soundtrack.
- Possible good story.
- Lighting, particle effects.
- Summons
Cons:
- Foreign simplistic combat system that feels nothing like an FF game.
- Main protagonist is a teenager with father issues, is a prince.
- Main party all dress in black, have black hair, Noctis would be more fitting as an evil boss, rather than a hero. Maybe they're secret devil worshippers?
- Awful Performance issues, proof is in the video for everyone trying to say they downloaded a magical version with no issues.
- Steeping on rocks to change the weather, instead of having a natural day/night cycle.
- Not staying true to its roots, annoying long time fans.
- Clunky controls, camera.
- Blurry graphics, jagged edges.
- Carbuncle is a squeaker.
- Magic Sucks

Edited by dova spook: 4/4/2016 11:44:02 PMBait taken: - Foreign simplistic combat system that feels nothing like an FF game. About as foreign as the popular Kingdom Hearts. FF has been inching toward action oriented combat since XII, it was only a matter of time. - Main protagonist is a teenager with father issues, is a prince. Tidus was a kind of royalty with daddy issues. Fans still love FFX despite that. Most FF protagonists since VII, that's 20 years, have been teenagers, why is it a problem now? - Main party all dress in black, have black hair, Noctis would be more fitting as an evil boss, rather than a hero. Maybe they're secret devil worshippers? Because Tetsuya Nomura doesn't know of any other color besides black, it's also the color of the kingdom. - Awful Performance issues, proof is in the video for everyone trying to say they downloaded a magical version with no issues. I had no problems, but then again, I don't bitch when frame rates drop a bit. - Steeping on rocks to change the weather, instead of having a natural day/night cycle. Now you're being overly critical, the switches were to show the dynamic lighting effects; not that day/night is switched by pressure plates. Also put into context that the setting is a dream. - Not staying true to its roots, annoying long time fans. After nearly 30 years, Sakaguchi's departure, and Uematsu's departure; it can't help but to change. Final Fantasy has strayed from its roots since VII, when both its class system and setting changed. And you know what? It was a smashing success, letting them know that experimentation can work out. - Clunky controls, camera. No argument there. - Blurry graphics, jagged edges. I noticed them too, but it's also a demo; a show of a work in progress. Plus you should know better than to think Square wouldn't polish every texture before release, after all; graphics and presentation are what they do best. - Carbuncle is a squeaker. Again, Japanese game design: the animals squeak, the women squeak, and sometimes the men do too. - Magic Sucks Now you're making things up; those were items, not spells. No wonder why it sucked as magic, because it wasn't.

I think it's fun.

A different combat system isn't a con just because it's different .-.
-
Game play was ok but your right magic did suck

The color black does not mean everything. It means the beginning of something new and everything started from darkness. It's the start of life and everything the universe is. Thinking black is satanic is childish.

"- Main party all dress in black, have black hair, Noctis would be more fitting as an evil boss, rather than a hero. Maybe they're secret devil worshippers?" This is quite possible the most laughably moronic thing I'll read for weeks to come. Kudos! Then again you post quite frequently... Oh and for the record not all party members have black hair. Anyway you keep hailing Satan and staying "Old Skool" champ! XO

Will there be a way to swap the attack and defense buttons around? I really don't like having to use circle for attack, too used to using square for it :)

Edited by OJ191: 4/4/2016 11:11:07 PMTL;DR OP is alternately making shit up he knows squat about, and trying to pass his/her opinions as fact. 0/10 arguments "simplistic combat that feels nothing like an FF game" The combat is far from simplistic and if you clearly didn't dig deep enough. And it feels to me like I always thought an FF game would/should feel if we were given full control over a character instead of menu-based-control. With the possible exception of how the magic system works, BUT we have no indication that is even how it works in the full game, as every FF game in the past has had items which cast spells on-use. "not staying true to it's roots and annoying fans" NO NO NO, FF15 stays plenty true to it's roots, while still innovating. In fact the only thing I would consider a drastic departure from said roots would be the move from an ATB system to a full control/fighter system, and even that is, while strange a new, a fairly logical progression for the series to go in. That said, I WOULD like them to continue making turn-based home console games (bravely default series is amazing but it clearly suffers from being portable). "characters have issues" Seriously what FF character cast DIDN'T have problems "Awful performance issues" Ran fine for me, and I'm not watching a 7 minute video about a demo I already played, at least not until I have some more spare time. "Stepping on rocks to change the weather, instead of having a natural day/night cycle." First of all they're switches not rocks, second of all it does have a day/night cycle if you wait long enough both in this demo and the duscae demo "Clunky controls, camera." Far from the worst I've played with in a game, and easily serviceable. Actually the only truly clunky thing I noticed was jumping, which was terrible. "Main party all dress in black, have black hair, Noctis would be more fitting as an evil boss, rather than a hero. Maybe they're secret devil worshippers?" Really? Really???

Combat is just as they said it would be, more like Kingdom Hearts The stone thing sounds fun, it's added control over the game but a normal cycle should be an option

Edited by Oak_Khan: 4/4/2016 6:36:15 PMI think that demo was a pure tech demo and just to show off the graphics You won't be able to randomly spawn cars and change the weather and time My game ran perfectly then I replayed it and during the last boss fight I got this blinding light coming out of nowhere, I changed the weather and time a bunch and it didn't make a difference. So I fear for its performance and since it would be my first FF game it's story. Magic does in fact suck, but I got really good at tossing it and the Lightning ability was good. The meteor one and the other OP abilities also made me laugh.

Edited by Ravn_21: 4/4/2016 4:23:46 PMI just played the demo and literally hate everything about it. The combat system is horrible with no real strategy, and the plates seem like a gimmick at best. Edit: I've seen all the highlights from previous demos, that doesn't change the fact that the Final Fantasy franchise is being destroyed before my eyes.

Edited by Ekaterine: 4/4/2016 3:48:16 PMI used Japanese audio with English subtitles and thought the performances were fine, even Carbuncle
-
I think we need to wait for the real game to come out before we judge it.
-
Is the protagonist and his gang a bunch of homos? Not sure if they left them like that or made them presentable.
-
I think you're being a tad overly critical with regards to performance since this is a demo, a very poor demo at that, and the stepping platforms/switches are only for demonstration purposes only, they won't be in the full game. I dislike the combat too as it doesn't feel like an FF game and a lot of people say it's similar to Kingdom Hearts (never played it tbh) which probably appeals to them. I haven't seen how this combat plays out when you have a party and i fear i would only control 1 character at a time whilst the others are controlled by an AI which I hate.
-
I'll admit, i beat the demo it then said buy game.(face palm) Urrmm I'll just say have no judgement till it's out.....
ha ha ha hehe haha he haaa ahhh aaaaarrrrrggghem hehe haaa

as if people are capable of that.
Ur trash
-
It needs to sell 10 million copies just to break even. No small feat.
-
Did you play episode Dusce?
-
I hate final fantasy, but this all just sounds opinion based, Other then a few things. Why should we care? If they enjoy it, let them enjoy it.
-
That game is going to be terrible.
-
You're an idiot, aren't you?
-
I honestly thought it was okay, it could flop, but I have faith it won't for me.
