As an aspiring astrophysicist, I know a thing or two about space. I also know that space is super cool and almost everyone I've ever talked to wants to learn more about it. This is a technique of studying I do with friends and family, as by teaching something that I know, if better cements that concept into my brain.
Fair warning: I don't know everything, and I will let you know if what you're asking is out of my grasp. But I'm pretty good, so fire away.

Edited by CrazyLincoln: 4/5/2016 9:17:03 PMThe universe cannot be infinite. If you're able to observe that galaxies are moving away from each other at an expansional acceleration. If the universe is expanding we can extrapolate backward in time and say that the universe was once smaller. Infinite can't become smaller and larger. The space time field is finite or at least from what we can tell as of right now. So my question is, what shape is the universe and what is it like to be near the edge? What is it expanding into? Or perhaps that too human of a question to ask and my brain just in not wired to understand the complexity of how the universe works.

Is there any new info on the planet nine? (i think thats what they're calling it anyway)

can space not

Any interest in spacecraft?

Another question, do you think the universe is finite or infinite? And I'm not just talking about black space because that's absolute nothingness, I'm talking about the matter of our universe, was there a set amount of matter ejected in the Big Bang or is there an infinite number of planets? I support the idea that we have finite matter btw, just want your opinion

What is an exoplanet and can there be an exoplanet that is made out of gas?

Do you think Jupiter has a solid surface underneath it's gaseous atmosphere

There are circumbinary systems, so are there systems with 4 stars?

What are the phases of the moon?
not hard at all
Have you guys learned about how the particles that were required for the big bang to happen, couldn't mathematically exist without any pre-existing atoms or quarks? Something had to have been there in the first place in order for it to occur. Of course its only a theory, and there's no way to actually determine if there was anything there, so I chose to let it be, but I'd like to see what you think.

What does Uranus smell like? Nevermind...I don't really want the answer to that.
-
What's your opinion on the end of the universe? I believe every star can't sustain it's life forever, new things can't be created to fill the void, Black holes do die out. Does that mean at the end of it all were left with a whole bunch of nothing, with the occasional super compressed material lying around. That just can't be!

What the -blam!- is a Uranus?

Is there a proportional amount of Earth-like planets?

Why are you so awesome? Also, can you follow and support TMT (Thirty Meter Telescope), we (Hawaii Big Island) could lose this incredible project in the very near future. https://twitter.com/TMTHawaii In a nut shell, the opposition to this project has nothing to do with native rights or beliefs. The telescope became a spearhead for a political movement, the Hawaiian Sovereignty. The opponents gained momentum a few months back thanks to social media and Hollywood celebrities hopping on the hype and declaring "they" were the mountain. http://blog.sfgate.com/hawaii/files/2015/04/jason-lisa.jpg Mountain my butt, they don't even live here. After eight years of surveys, paperwork, studies, project is being stalled because one hearing was missed thanks to the inefficiency of the governing bodies involved. Many native Hawaiians have stated their support, and the religious beliefs the opponents hide behind are made up as they go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JErWIxAZFAA One among many viewpoints in favor. http://www.westhawaiitoday.com/opinion/letters/viewpoint-tmt-will-advance-humankind-s-understanding-our-universe Sorry, rambling but this hits me right where it hurts. At work right now, but PM if you want to know more, have a whole archive of what has been happening.

Edited by Alpha: 4/5/2016 10:51:49 PMHow much 'exotic matter' would we need to travel at 1000 times of c? And also, is it possible to travel through another dimension using quantum theory?
