They weren't good in the first place.

Are you kidding? The shotguns was the most reliable option in pve for an entire year, do you remember the VoG shotgun? That thing in pve was my first option in every situation, now with all the crybabies for their performance in pvp the shotguns sucks in pve now, same with the mythoclast and the legend handcannons.

Edited by sergantsnipes05: 4/6/2016 7:14:25 AMAgain, shotguns have been balanced separate in PVE and PVP for almost a year since 1.1.1 which was last February when they got a 100% damage buff against non guardian combatants. They were ridiculously strong in PVE to the point it was silly after being in the gutter from Vanilla to mid TDB. Mythoclast was op. Even in PVE it had like 60+ shots per mag and did a ton of damage.

Really? Orignally shotguns were a very underused weapon in pve. That is in part why they got such a huge buff which has subsequently been nerfed time and gain. After the first shotgun buff they were so op in pve it wasn't even funny. Get to a boss fight, pull out the shotgun, lol.

During HoW, shotguns got a 300% damage increase in PvE and were amazing. A popular strategy for killing Skolas with Arc Burn was just pumping rounds into him with The 4th Horseman.

They've been balancing shotguns separately in PVE for over a year now. In fact most recent weapon changes have had different changes in PVE and PVP.
