Warlocks need to be tweaked and not nerfed. Viking funeral need to be changed to something like melting pot on a sunbreaker. It can still be deadly in crucible. It will give the other player a chance at survival. It will also make them more useful in pve activities. Stormcaller needs to have agility or duration of super reduced. Flame shield should also proc on kill or change hungering blade and force barrier to proceed on hit. Nightstalkers also need to have a cool down before you can toss grenade after you toss smoke and the shade step glitch need fixing. Also if the tether would work instantly and not delayed it would make it better in pvp. Sunbreakers could use a small buff to the hammers them selves ( better hit detection for lack of better term ). That's honestly how I would fix the current issues with subclasses in crucible.

i feel viking funeral should do the same damage without but spread out over a longer period
-
You mean shorter time. People were complaining about how the burn takes too long.
-
no i mean that it shouldn't do additional fire damage by increasing the time, it should do the same damage that is added with touch of flame but instead lower the dot damage and keep the viking funeral time the same
-
That is breaking the subclass. Making it useless

I respectfully disagree. [IMO] People want to rush, rush, rush, rush...then rush some more. Viking Funeral prevents that, unless the person feels like dying from one shot. I've survived many Firebolts by just being patient instead of trying to continue forward. Patience is what's lacking most times, pull back, re-group, etc. Everybody's mad b/c they get burned carrying their shotgun then continue around a corner only to meet one round from my MIDA and they fall over. It's not Firebolt, it's the playstyle. I don't play my Hunter the same as my Titan nor my Warlock the same as my Hunter. If you know a team is running Last Words and shotguns you should normally hang back and draw them to you; create an advantage for yourself, play smart, tactics, etc. Striker throws a lightning grenade on a doorway, do you continue to rush through? Prolly not. You can spec for burn damage w/ chest armor or play it safe for a few seconds until you regen what you lost. The response of "oh it puts gets me low then I'm killed before I start to regen" is not accurate...that person was probably dead to begin with regardless of the burn. A person can adapt their play style to that of their opponents; hence the big deal about inspecting prior to a Trials match. You want to see what you're up against so you know how to counter. [IMO] Too much is being made over the Firebolt grenade; the same argument could be made for a certain Bladedancer grenade that likes to follow us through multiple rooms, way longer than it should. In the end though it's out our controls but it is great conversation.

Yes skip grenades need to be nerfed. Most players use Viking funeral as an offensive tactic. One shot to the body with a scout or hand cannon, and chuck a firebolt at them. Then watch them burn out. Every warlock I run into nowadays runs tlw, and shotgun. It's either slide, shotgun, melee. Or firebolt from around a corner and rush in and finish off. If I'm to avoid any of that I'm gonna sit back and hard scope a corner every time I see something on my radar. Viking funeral give a warlock 10+ seconds to finish of enemy. All the need to do is deal about 40 damage to them.

Edited by thMadHatter83: 4/7/2016 11:41:29 AMI agree. I think the shotgun meta is a major cause for this. The shotgun play style is so aggressive and when it goes well its like a tidal wave; people get addicted to that and don't know how to do anything else. My nephew for example has 12x more special weapon kills in Crucible than primary, 12x more! Now in his defense, he is a 10yr old shotgun wizard and can make things happen that are really incredible. He doesn't know any other way tho and without special ammo he's lost. There's a lot of variables in something like this and hopefully these changes post Apr12 will be an overall improvement.

melting point deadly in crucible?.... don't tell jokes this early man.. my mind aint ready for that

Thing is: tweaked is not in bungie vocabulary. Its either useless or over powered.

Stormcaller nerf in Pve is totally unnecessary as is the Sunsinger flame shield only procing on a kill. And the hell I have to wait for a cooldown before I can throw a grenade after I use smoke to go invisible in Pve (unlikely since I'm trying to escape but you never know)
-
esp since the smoke is thrown from the other hand than the grenade
