Sniper inventory reduced by 5-7 shots. That's freaking huge!
Let's talk math(exciting I know lol)
If I have 23 rounds max on my stillpiercer, with boots on and all.
For simplicity sake let's say to a pve boss I do a flat 1000 per hit.
23x1000=23000
Now with hit to ammo lets use avg and say 6 rounds removed
18
17x1000=17000
That is a 26% reduction in potential damage (over a quarter)
That's horrible, and a bad call please bump and comment maybe someone will see this

Bungie needs to "rework" whoever is in charge of weapon balance. They LITERALLY only nerfed mida, 1k stare, and terminus because they're too popular. They actually say it in the update that they're being nerfed despite being balanced because so many people use them. I completely ran out of ammo during POE and I was running around the arena desperate for special ammo and none was dropping. Then other games I was spammed with the stuff. It just isn't consistent. The balance is definately not right for pve. My buddy on the other hand said he had tons of ammo dropping for him.

GUYS. No need to panic. I haven't done a raid in a very long time, so I decided to find a chill group and do a little test. I used Sleeper Simulant with armor that lets me carry more ammo for heavy weapons, so I had 12 shots. Everyone else used Black Spindle and were all around the same light levels (between 315 and 318 for the people doing DPS.) We had to wipe at one point, and it was right after I had finished using all 12 Sleeper shots and roughly 8-10 1KYS shots. Very good point. I'm really not happy with how they do everything for pvp. They should have separate nerfs for separate things. The ammo reduction should be only in pvp, not in pve too

I was lucky enough to get skip rounds on my 1000 yard, the nerf doesn't even affect me :D

Your max ammo for snipers is 25 with armor that have extra heavy ammo perk, not extra sniper.

Another thing that's gonna ruin PvE because of changes to PVP... I think secretly they saw the methods for killing bosses in in the raid, snipers.... Giving you less ammo, means you'll run out quicker, there by artificially increasing the difficulty of the encounter.

I see these posts all the time. Yes, your damage per reserves is reduced. However, your Damage per second and Damage per clip are unchanged. Additionally, how often do you dump your entire reserve of sniper ammo into a boss? For me, including KF, it is close to never. I always have a few rounds left over (1-2). This might be because I always take left side on Warpriest and am usually grabbing attention at Golgoroth so someone can grab gaze. In the case of Warpriest, it simply means high range machine guns will be highly desired (of which, Qullim's Terminus was never in the running). Hell, this also gives ground to Sleeper Simulant and possibly even rocket launchers for Warpriest since the goal is to stagger as often as possible. This is achievable through other means. So yeah, Snipers took a minor hit. Their overall damage is down 26%, as you pointed out, but that is easily made up for through other weapons. It is their burst damage (DPS) that ultimately matters and that hasn't been changed at all.
