Sniper inventory reduced by 5-7 shots. That's freaking huge!
Let's talk math(exciting I know lol)
If I have 23 rounds max on my stillpiercer, with boots on and all.
For simplicity sake let's say to a pve boss I do a flat 1000 per hit.
23x1000=23000
Now with hit to ammo lets use avg and say 6 rounds removed
18
17x1000=17000
That is a 26% reduction in potential damage (over a quarter)
That's horrible, and a bad call please bump and comment maybe someone will see this
Edit, I have never trended before so thanks to all
Edit 2, near 1500 replies thanks I've never had over 20 before lol so thanks to all and be careful out there in the update

Does bungie realize that stillpiercer is now going to be the best sniper in the game because it has a short ranged scope that isn't ambush shortgaze or longview?
-
You have been nerfed.
-
AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! Pve player lol.
-
Always makes me wonder how hard it would be to just create a new boolean variable called EngagedInPvE, set it to true if outside of the Crucible, false otherwise. Actually, even as a CS student, I know that it is not hard at all and requires only minor modification of code.
-
They've ruined a hell of a lot more than that. Can you honestly say yourw surprised? I've always supported bungie and backed up destiny, defending it in long arguments on these forums. I just can't do it anymore. They've ruined the game. All the weapons we come to love, (TLW, Mida, Vex Mythoclast, Icebreaker, Gjallarhorn, to name a few) they just break and make useless. I'm talking PVE and PVP here. Their answer to everything is to nerf it, rather than buff other weapons. Any more nerfs will reduce the crucible to a dull, boring, slow paced environment. During HoW, shotguns and handcannons were OP as hell, but you know what? It was FUN. Mida, for example; absolutely nothing wrong with that gun for a whole year and a half and now, because it's overused - they nerf it. Before someone jumps on me, look at my stats; I barely have any kills with Mida and most of the kills I do have are in PVE. Qullims Terminus? Again, nothing wrong with it at all. Exactly the same stats as ruin wake and other mgs, yet only Qullims gets nerfed (besides blanket heavy ammo nerf) Why? Because it's easy to aquire from challenge mode and lots of people have it. Nothing to do with it being 'OP', because it's not. They could have increased the timer on heavy and special ammo in crucible and reduced how much ammo it gives you even more than they did last time (2.0). They could have made it so you lost special ammo if you die. Perhaps a bad idea, but I'm just saying surely there's better options than what they're doing? But no - let's reduce max ammo inventory and f*ck over PVE players. I haven't played properly since December and was really hopeful that the April update would entice me back. If anything, it's done the opposite and unfortunately put the final nail in the coffin for me - for Destiny. Also, who in their right mind would put any more money into this game? Haven't we invested enough already? Season passes for most other games cost less than TTK did alone! I very much doubt I'll come back to Destiny now and my apologies for the rant - I just care(d) about this game and Bungie are making it very hard to continue playing. Let's hope they do better with a clean slate and Destiny 2.
-
Next thing you know they'll band guns because they kill too much players
-
Honestly all Bungie does is nerf anything that some kid on the forums complains about. What they need to do is not make 5 guns the best guns in the game initially. Then we wouldn't have this problem. And how is Thorn possibly being nerfed again? Like c'mon people
If I have 23 rounds max on my stillpiercer... Now with hit to ammo lets use avg and say 6 rounds removed 18 17x1000=17000
Suddenly. Random 18. PS, I'm assuming high impact snipers (stillpiercer and the likes) are gonna have their inventory hit less than low impact snipers. Low impact = larger inventory anyways. So, you may only lose 5 bullets, and could probably make that damage up in maybe 1 mag of charges of a Sleeper Simulant. All of a sudden 5 bullets and 1 reload animation gets condensed into a weapons WAP and 3 charges.
-
If your going with that math next you need to, Lost - 6 sniper shot = 6000 dmg Guess - 6 sniper shots = 6 seconds Now work out how much damage you can do with a heavy weapon in 6 seconds and take that figure away from 6000 to find what you really lose. Will be a lot less than 26% May even be higher damage.
-
Valid. But no need to do the exercise like that. 26 shots. 6 less. 6 / 26 x 100 = 26% Actually 23.07692307692308%, but that's just picky!
-
Let's not use snipers in pve anymore.
-
Let's be reasonable and realise that the only encounter where you're required to slap out the full current inventory is warpriest. And even there, your options would be... Well... No other special, at least. I don't think this will really be a problem for pve. Also, we don't have patch notes yet, there could be periferal changes that gives a different context for this change.
-
Bump fix this before update!

If you're actually trying to provide constructive criticism, and it sounds like it, you should have this in the #feedback forum.
-
Honestly I'm just tired of all the weapon tuning. They just need to leave the weapons alone.
-
Bump because I love math
-
In PVE it's a bit irrelevant because you can get ammo drops from any enemy.
-
Yeah I'm really tired of PVE players getting screwed because of pvp. It doesn't really matter if more bricks drop. If I'm fighting the warpriest, I'm going to deal a LOT less damage because you can't really go around picking up ammo during that fight, or golgoroth....thanks bungo
-
I liked the change for Crucible, but not PvE.
-
Right I mean its not like there a perk that lets you shoot ammo bricks to collect them Or even ammo synthesis or even ammo on the ground that you can pick up. Hay its not like we pass up green ammo bricks all the time.
-
Sniper ammo and Heavy Machine Gun ammo have been reduced to increase the play time required to complete activities. Bungie is pulling out all the stops to keep players playing their game. You will no longer move through activities at the same pace. This isn't the 1st time Bungie has done this either. Bungie changed Black Hammer, IceBreaker, and Gjallahorn back in year 1 for exactly the same reason. Not enough content so Bungie wants what little content there is to take as long as absolutely possible to complete.
-
Oh please. You're going to adapt to the changes anyway and not even care about it later on.
-
Perhaps Bungie would just like to choose all of our weapons before each crucible map for us.
