Sniper inventory reduced by 5-7 shots. That's freaking huge!
Let's talk math(exciting I know lol)
If I have 23 rounds max on my stillpiercer, with boots on and all.
For simplicity sake let's say to a pve boss I do a flat 1000 per hit.
23x1000=23000
Now with hit to ammo lets use avg and say 6 rounds removed
18
17x1000=17000
That is a 26% reduction in potential damage (over a quarter)
That's horrible, and a bad call please bump and comment maybe someone will see this
Edit, I have never trended before so thanks to all
Edit 2, near 1500 replies thanks I've never had over 20 before lol so thanks to all and be careful out there in the update
-
they better have fixed the -blam!-ing hakkë sniper ammo bug, by default my aoife rua-d only holds 14 shots, with ammo perk armor it holds 18 shots
-
Increasing zoom on snipers is all they needed nerfing the ammo was not needed
-
More ammo will drop. Math not needed
-
Bungie's reasoning behind making nerfs apply to both PvE and PvP is for the experience to feel similar everywhere. Yea that's a bunch of bullshit.
-
I noticed that too. No more emptying your entire clip on war priest to kill him in on turn with black spindle. This inventory nerf is very bad for pve
-
Pve and pvp Will never work together
-
Pve is getting le pooped on
-
I'm primarily PvE and not worried about it at all.
-
Bungie...Please have all Bosses lay down and surrender upon entering final room to compensate for ammo shortage.
-
-
I'm calling it now, after the Universal Remote hits year two it'll be at the top of the nerf list because of crucible crybabies. Seriously, these guys -blam!- up everything.
-
Does this mean eirene will only have 9 bullets?

Edited by Lady: 4/8/2016 8:24:47 PMI actually feel sorry for people who can't snipe in PVE. I have my own raid team but when I do raids with randoms that are more than enough light level, 320 spindle's etc and struggle on DPS or struggle to kill their knight on the platform at Oryx.... I already think "why do i do this to myself" now... can you imagine after the update? Good lord....
-
Think if you don't have sniper ammo perk then you carry 16 now reduce that then carry 9-11
-
If that's the math... What's it going to be like with a sniper that doesn't carry that much ammo.... Crap
-
Sounds like their play testing doesn't include PvE environments, no surprise there though....

Edited by lynk: 4/8/2016 7:23:24 AMNot to mention the most common sniper in PvE that's not the Spindle is the 1kYS. Personally, I have 1 with Perfect Balance/Tacsys and Shortgaze/Triple Tap/Firefly. It is in the middle of the road as far as sniper ammo goes, so it will probably lose 6 bullets due to sniper nerf, bringing it down to 12 without any special ammo perks. But 1kYS is also getting it's own ammo nerf, by a "couple of bullets". So what used to have 18 base, 25 max, will now have 10 or less base, and 17 or less max. Seriously? 10 bullets????? Do they even play test these things outside of their precious PvP world? I dunno bout you guys, but I'm gonna need a new PvE sniper. Hoping on a Longbow (cuz it has 5 bullets per mag. With Triple tap, I can shoot up to 7 b4 reloading) with field scout, firefly, triple tap, and Tacsys. Edit: now that I'm thinking about it, a single special brick in either pvp or pve gives about 20% of your total ammo capacity. So, in PvP, you pick up a special brick with 1kYS, u only get 2 bullets now. Same with PvE. So basically, instead of nerfing 1kYS so it wasn't the only option, but still viable, they utterly destroyed it. All because of Crucible cry babies. Smh. #TitanMasterRace

I think it's good because sniping the bosses was the only thing you should do. Now other options become viable like sleeper simulant and using just raid weapons and the cocoon perk. Snipers with 25 rounds was ridiculous, it was way to easy for end game players to beat the hardest challenges in the game. I'm sure in a week or two everyone will be down with the new strategies too. This community is just as good at whining about nerfs as they are at finding the best strategies.

I'm -blam!-ing tired of dealing with crucibabies and their shit. First Suros. That gun was so fun in PvE, then the shit got nerfed out of all autos. Then Mythoclast. Same thing. I used to melt the Darkness with it, now it hangs over the fireplace. All handcannons. I used to use Hawkmoon religiously, but I rarely did crucible. Al of the sudden, whenever I attack a group of enemies, at least 3 shots out of the twelve miss. Why is this an exotic again? Oh right: it has more than 8 rounds. Then pulses. I had a god roll hopscotch pilgrim before it was cool. I only used it in crucible, but it wasnt OP by any means. now it sits next to my mythoclast. Finally, Bungie turns its attention to scout rifles. Literally all of the primary weapon classes have been or are about to be nerfed. Now lets look at Special weapons. First fusion rifles bought the farm when crucibabies bitched about the mythoclast and Bungie catered to them with their usual ineptitude. Then they were inexplicably nerfed AGAIN because the pussies on the sandbox team couldnt handle being killed by "one guy" who was decent with fusions. Then shotguns got nerfed in TTK, and now they hit like a wet noodle in PvE. Just as a testament to this bullshit, it is now more efficient to snipe a rushing Fallen Captain or Hive Knight then to shotgun them. On the topic of Snipers, now their scopes, zoom, stability, and ammo are ALL GETTING NERFED. Remind me again, what exactly about having more ammo in PvP makes you more OP? Nothing. More incompetence. Heavy weapons. Blast range and damage got nerfed because bitches in Crucible didnt know how to -blam!-ING dodge. Now HMG's are losing their ammo, which will make them useful for about 10 seconds during an entire PvE activity. And thats a stretch. Swords are niche weapons, so Bungie hasnt bothered ruining them yet. In conclusion: Nerfs do nothing. A new meta develops as weapons get shittier and shittier, and Crucibabies continue to bitch. Bungie is incompetent (big surprise) or deliberately ruining things. They refuse to differentiate between the very different settings of PvP or PvE, so everyone suffers do to the whinings of kids who refuse to git gud. Snipers in PvE will be ruined, while they will largely be unchanged in PvP. Because all endgame PvE activities involve standing in a confined space to get a buff (or not die), "increased special ammo drops" are worse than worthless because Bungie is deliberately throwing bullshit in the PvE players faces. "Oh, dont like that you only have 15 rounds for Golgoroth and no other weapons can compete with sniper's DPS? well, we'll give you more special ammo! You just have to stop shooting and run and get it ! Tee hee hee!" Since when did being a badass guardian of the solar system involve scrounging for ammo? In PvP, rarely does one get a full inventory, usually just a full magazine, so they will not be affected. TL;DR Bungie sucks (perhaps deliberately) at weapon balancing, and crucible players' bitchings have enabled Bungie to be this way. If you are a crucible player who has complained about weapons you couldnt combat, then you have no one to blame but yourself for the lack of weapon diversity and interest.
-
Something something increased special drop rate in pve.
-
Hey guys did you know the game lets you use other weapons on bosses like primary's and heavy?! Holy shit, right
-
They said in the stream that more green bricks will fall in PvE to counteract that issue...
-
Even with the increases drop rate, how's that going to help you when you only have 12 spindle shots for WP. Minds well just use Sleeper Sim since it can also hold 12.

We have 1 sniper for the ##Destiny1000. Plus that pos Doctrine got crushed.

Why couldn't they just nerf pvp reserves and leave pve unchanged?
-
But the harder a pve challenge is, the longer you play, and the longer you play, the better the game is....right? Bungie Logic 101.
