Sniper inventory reduced by 5-7 shots. That's freaking huge!
Let's talk math(exciting I know lol)
If I have 23 rounds max on my stillpiercer, with boots on and all.
For simplicity sake let's say to a pve boss I do a flat 1000 per hit.
23x1000=23000
Now with hit to ammo lets use avg and say 6 rounds removed
18
17x1000=17000
That is a 26% reduction in potential damage (over a quarter)
That's horrible, and a bad call please bump and comment maybe someone will see this
Edit, I have never trended before so thanks to all
Edit 2, near 1500 replies thanks I've never had over 20 before lol so thanks to all and be careful out there in the update

But the harder a pve challenge is, the longer you play, and the longer you play, the better the game is....right? Bungie Logic 101.
-
You realize there will be more special ammo to go around in PvE now though right? That's their counter for the less ammo in your capacity, all it means is you'll have to run around a bit more, which is most likely what you'll be doing anyway since you can't stay in one spot for too long in most fights.
-
My Omolon Erienne RR 4 holds only 19 rounds with maxed sniper ammo gear. That's going to be a huge hit to reduce it to 7 rounds. But we can thank all the PVP whiners for the nerf of our only two reliable DPS machines. Thanks again crucibabies. You have once again ruined the game.
-
They said green ammo bricks will drop more often in PvE to compensate, so whats the problem?
-
I cant wait for this game to die. I got on today and got right back on but i know not just me alone will make it die..this game will never be balanced. But i cant wait to be only using my high empact pulse rifle and my theasan in the crucible.i only use snipers in pve and i know it will hurt because that omolan sniper ammo was already low lol

Edited by I FARMER l: 4/8/2016 6:55:10 PMSo you can't just sit in the back of the room and pop shots off at the boss? You'll actually have to move around and pick up special ammo dropped by the added mobs? Omg the horror....
-
At this point they've pretty much killed PvE and defiled it's corpse, I wouldn't be surprised if Destiny 2 is multiplayer only like titanfall the way they're crapping on PvE. We know how well that works considering Titanfall 2 has a mandated by publisher single player mode coming with it.
-
Only effect is in crucible, green drops will be plenty in pve
-
Hold the phone dude. What boss besides Rockets Galore, just stands there and takes hits? Most of the bosses in the game have phases. You're not going to dump all your sniper rounds in one 30-60 second phase.
-
It's pretty weak that they chose to do it in pve. Makes sense in pvp - or I can at least understand it in pvp.
-
big whoop, use fusions here and there. Everyone has the odd sense of sniper enetitlement as though it is the only way to kill a boss or make it through PVE. Sniping is unbalanced that is why so many players in both PVE and PVP depend on it exclusively as a special weapon. When was the last time you relied on your shotgun to get you through the King's Fall raid? You still have your comfort weapon.
-
maybe they're trying to get us to use different load outs or spend longer killing bosses; or maybe this won't matter too much once we get 335 light gear and it'll all become relative. It usually works this way that the new challenges take much longer when new stuff drops than a few months after everyone has higher light gear and knows the dynamics of the changes. we'll see......
-
green ammo bricks drop more now, you won't even run out as long as you pick them up
-
Good call in pvp not in pve this will force players to use primarys more in crucible which is what bungie wanted all along but of course they forget about those that do mostly pve so good job and bad job bungie you fixed one thing and broke something else
-
Bungie is killing their own game to make the crybabies in pvp happy. This isn't just about snipers. Everything is getting shittier and shittier in pve because of the "balancing" in crucible. Shotguns become crap, supers become crap, whole classes of primaries become crap, now snipers are becoming a lot worse. All. Because. People. Bitch.
I only play pvp by the way.
-
This community is awful at adapting. You people find crutches & bitch your heads off when they're taken away.
-
I think if a sniper runs out of ammo, he can pop a synth or pick up an ammo brick. Worst case scenario he can switch weapon.
-
They increased special block drop rate as well to offset.
-
No ninjas or bungie replied :(
-
Guess you'll have to use heavy
-
Yep, this is mainly a PvP update (weapon wise) with the PvE being PoE lvl up. I'm fond of both PvP and PvE and the snipers do get annoying in multiplayer matches so I like the change for that. For PvE they did say "more ammo bricks will drop to compensate". We just won't be able to just blow through bosses as easily now which I do not see as that bad a thing. Ammo will now be something to use wisely along with ammo packs.

-
Hmm... Making snipers become a weapon that must be used judiciously and not as an end all solution... What a terrible idea! Why would you want a special weapon to be SPECIAL!!!!
-
This simply isn't logical. As we progress through time, our weapons and capabilities should get better, not worse. This is totally counter to anyone's expectations.
-
I love how you had to multiple the rounds by 1000 in order to show the percentage change. It's still the same math without it. My god lol.

Edited by SMOKEFUNKYDNUGS: 4/8/2016 12:43:23 PMThey figure out the dumbest ways to pleas the crybabies and screwed over pve yet again
