Holy cow bungie killed them

Sniper inventory reduced by 5-7 shots. That's freaking huge! Let's talk math(exciting I know lol) If I have 23 rounds max on my stillpiercer, with boots on and all. For simplicity sake let's say to a pve boss I do a flat 1000 per hit. 23x1000=23000 Now with hit to ammo lets use avg and say 6 rounds removed 18 17x1000=17000 That is a 26% reduction in potential damage (over a quarter) That's horrible, and a bad call please bump and comment maybe someone will see this Edit, I have never trended before so thanks to all Edit 2, near 1500 replies thanks I've never had over 20 before lol so thanks to all and be careful out there in the update

    • Also guess what's coming back? Prison of Elders. Remember the most fun part of prison of elders, specifically skolas? That's right: standing still in the spawn room for five minutes every wipe waiting on ammo synths. I'm excited.

            My 1ks has triple tap and with one sniper ammo increase gear I start with twenty three when I run out of ammo provided I hit all head shots I have put in 37 shots when the ammo nerf for snipers 5 to 7 bullets and the 100 yard stare probably like a 3 to 4 bullet nerf hit at the minimum I lose 8 starting bullets so I would start at 15 with a sniper piece on at the best so with the triple tap all head shots I only end up doing a possible 22 shots of damage

                    • Yeah that nerf will suck for pve like against warpriest and golgoroth, my spindle and terminus will empty like half way during the damage phase, -blam!- you bungie! I m more pve over pvp. They only think about pvp, and not how much it will hurt us in pve. Hopefully ammo bricks drop more in the raid.

                      • Are you serious?? 5-7 shots is ridiculous. This whole update really pisses me off. You nerf my MIDA and now this? The only thing I'm excited about is to get PoE back. I like to set up a lot of PvE challenges for myself. I soloed all the PoE bosses last year, soloed Crotas End back in the day, and my friends and I are working on 3 manning Oryx right now. When you do shit like this, you [b]need[/b] those deep sniper reserves. This nerf may not be a big deal for full teams, but it's going to seriously affect the solo players. Why even nerf it? I mean seriously, who are you helping? [b]Nobody[/b] is excited about the lack of ammo reserves in PvE. [b]Nobody.[/b] All you're doing is pissing off your players [b][i]again.[/i][/b] On top of that, they've already nerfed ammo! They nerfed field scout, they nerfed white nail, they made is much harder to get the blanket "increase special/heavy ammo perks" (now they're usually weapon specific). Is it really not enough yet?? Everything in this game just keeps getting worse and worse. It's like watching Johnny Manziel's NFL career...

                          • Tis a shame... I usually beat snipers in the crucible with legendary scouts or by flanking. Well guess what? I'm a sniper in PVE and I disapprove this change...

                                    How about we wait until we know how much they're buffing ammo drop rate? Golg won't change one bit (you don't run dry in one phase) and Warpriest'll take one more round to complete if you're not going ToM & Blessings.

                                    • It depends on how much they increased special ammo drops from enemies in pve. If it's a decent increase this could compensate for us pve players. As it stands right now I've gone strikes where I don't see special drop until half way through. Or entire segments of the raid and not having it drop

                                          • Maybe...just maybe Bungie have looked at GAME DATA....shock horror, and seen that people roaming around quick/no scoping people with snipers at point blank range is...well...totally what snipers shouldnt do and thought...wait a minute. Lets correct that. If your new to crucible its insane how steep the difficulty curve is if you constantly get quickscoped, and it simply motivates you to copy it. Snipers are long range weapons and NOT meant to be used as primaries...man its so simple really. Mida...they've removed a hidden perk in stagger rounds, and done nothing else! Special has been reduced as people rely on them, and this will make people think about what guns to use in their primary slot, as they are going to have to use it! Bungie have got balls i think. All the people bitching either didnt hear them say special will drop in PVE more often, removing any issues really. The only thing i think is gen bullshit is people being able to one hit headshot people in trials with year one guns- ICEBREAKER- so hopefully the light increase will nerf that. Everything else ill play when it drops, as its free after all, and if its crap i wont play it. Itll make things more varied and give less of an edge to the online wizards so it should make the game more interesting to new players too.

                                            • No mention whatsoever on how the heavy ammo packs will affect Sleeper Simulant or if it's max carrying ammo is affected (I doubt it since they buffed it just a patch or two ago). Just bust out your Sleeper Simulant, pair it with your sniper and if you are man enough to run out of ammo on both between damage phases, more power to you.

                                                Holy cow, people are such whiners. "Oh no! Bungie cut our ammo reserves! Eff them!". (Totally disregards the buff to hawkmoon, low rate pulses, low rate autos, fusions, hand cannon ammo, increased rewards, infusion now is full power, and the frequency of ammo drops in pve) Jesus. Every change here is minor. Easily able to cope with. And imho, quite necessary.
