I can't see how the fact that you ignored what PvP was back then and Bungie having PvP events planned before the game came out relate to each other.
PvE and PvP are not terms exclusive to Destiny.

I have never played pvp before Destiny. Didn't even know it existed.

No, I played with friends and beat up aliens....but I honestly had never heard of pvp before I bought destiny. I still don't get it.

PvE = Player versus Environment. That means humans playing against the game itself, computer controlled enemies, environment hazards, etc. PvP= Player versus Player. That means human players versus human players. PvP has been in the games since the days of Pong.

I thought it was player v enemy and player v player. I don't equate pong with running around with guns trying to kill people (or campsniping with a gun).

Well it's the same at the most basic level, you're still playing against a human.

Technically, but handball is different than war.

It can be a sports game, it can be a racing game, it can be a shooter, it can even be virtual chess and still PvP is present in all of them.

I'm definitely more of a lone wolf when it comes to gaming...until Destiny...forced to make friends.

I think that my preference in games has made me intolerant to the dynamics of the changing meta because I never played games in which the weapons and supers changed every few months...before D.
