Soooo this week's topic in my sociology class is race and ethnicity
You can take this test to see which race you associate things with
http://www.understandingprejudice.org/iat/
Where I live, you don't see mixed couples a lot.
And guys aren't very open to what kinda girl they would date
Too many times have I been told "You're pretty, but I don't date black girls."
So yeah, it still matters in some places, does it matter to you? Would you maybe go for an Asian girl and not a black girl? Is it the culture or the physical traits that scare you away? Does it matter what your family thinks?
I'd like to share the results in my class discussion, thanks.
Edit:
Yes I'm a black girl, equivalent to a unicorn apparently
My parents have been together for 30yrs SO yes I have a -blam!-ing dad
I have been dating a white guy 4 1/2 years
However him being white has nothing to do with it, I actually don't have strong physical attraction to him.
I base my attraction on masculinity, not the color of someone's skin.
KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RACE AND ETHNICITY PLEASE

I would not consider dating a woman outside of my own race. I don't believe my wife would be very happy. ;) On a more serious note though... I have no issue with dating outside of my own race. I'm old enough to remember the first 'known' interracial couple in our area (and I live in a pretty major area). I remember feeling bad for them because even the other students gave them crap CONSTANTLY. I also remember the looks and snarky remarks from the older people when we would hang out together. It was pretty damn rough, to be honest. I have dated women from quite a few different races in my lifetime. No big deal really.
