Again, it's a culture thing. Africans, specifically in America, were different visually. Because of that, they were viewed as lesser beings. The Irish could integrate into society because they were white. Even in recent history, Blacks weren't viewed as equal citizens and were denied opportunities because of it.
50 years ago, a black man could not get the same job a white man could because he was black. Case and point.
Those people who were denied opportunities are still alive today, and their culture is heavily influenced by this. Those old people teach their kids that they don't get opportunities, because they didn't.
It's a cycle that you are just pretending never happened.
