Out of the first two amendments on the US Bill of Rights, which do you think is more important?
The first amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The second amendment:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The right for freedom of speech is more important than the right to be armed. It would be much easier to repel the first and then the second than to repel the second and then the first.
