Stop capturing the third zone in Control.

If your team's initial spawn is nearest to zone A, the third zone is C and vice versa (for this example, A is spawn and C is the third zone). As you spawn in, take note of how many people on your team are staying at A and how many are going to B. Really only one or two people need to stay at A, as they probably can cap it uncontested. The rest of the team should go cap B. Once both A and B are captured, the rest of the match should be zone defense. Draw a line in your head between zones B and C and don't cross it. You don't need three zones to win the match. Except in extreme cases, any team that can hold A and B for the duration of the match will win. I know there is a medal for killing people while all three zones are held, but it's not worth it. Here's why: 1.[b] Spawn switching.[/b] Teams need places to spawn. If you are capturing the third zone, members of the other team will need to spawn elsewhere. Usually they'll spawn at what used to be [i]their[/i] third zone (in this example, A). [i]This is the most important reason not to cap the third zone. [/i] 2.[b]Gotta defend.[/b] First, capturing the third zone means, without a doubt, that you have less than a full team defending zones A and B. 3. [b]Simplicity.[/b] Once you hold both A and B, instead of being a multi-objective game mode, Control becomes much simpler: just kill everyone who comes across the imaginary line between B and C. 4. [b]Waste of man/woman power. [/b] Veteran players understand this dynamic. When a seasoned crucible vet sees someone on his team trying to capture the third zone (C in this example), he or she is forced to sprint back to zone A to either defend it against enemy players who are now spawning there or prevent the spawn switch in the first place. Sometimes veteran players are the personification of mediocrity (e.g., that VinnyML guy), but usually your team's veteran players are also its best players. In a game mode in which we earn points based on killing other players, do we really want our best and brightest doing anything other than killing other players? Are these facts always true? Of course not. There are definitely players out there who are so good that they could win a match while controlling a only a single zone. Also, there will always be matches that are so uneven that your team can easily hold all three zones for most of the match. These statistical outliers, though. The matches I'm talking about are those right in the middle of the bell curve. If you don't believe me, play a few Control matches and watch what happens when someone from your team tries to cap the third zone. In the vast majority of cases, a few seconds after your team starts capturing the third zone, the other team starts capturing A. Like I said before, I'm pretty mediocre when it comes to Crucible. I've been playing for a long time, though and I've noticed a few things that cause teams to lose that can be easily avoided. None of those things causes as many losses or is as easy to rectify as what I've described above.

  • Actually capping the third zone with a good team is only rewarding This will scatter the other team in to a simplistic way that you can control spawns and get max points and force the other team to rage quit So your wrong
